Overpriced - Home Server Hacks BAD LINK,

This review is from: Amd Athlon64 Ee Single-Core 1640 (2.7Ghz) Socket Am2 L2=512Kb Retail Box (Personal Computers)
If you came here from Home Server Hacks searching for the Amd Athlon64 Le Single-Core 1640 THIS IS NOT THE ONE.
This is the Ee and WILL NOT WORK. Your system will shut down constantly and cause various network problems and you will lose out on the $50+ you blow on this archaic CPU you will most likely not have a place for elsewhere. I for one can't believe they still charge so much for it.

Installed it on my HP Mediasmart home server EX470.. installation was good.. needed a nice thermal paste and some cool spot as it heats up very quickly and EX470 heatsink is smaller than the original one..
but over all happy with purchase

I bought this and followed the directions provided online by another website. It was very easy. If you have to pull hard to remove anything you should reread and take a second look. It works great and is a real upgrade in power.

I can't review the item as I have not yet received it after ordering on 22 Aug 09. In other words, it's been one month since I ordered this item, haven't received it, yet my credit card was charged immediately.
Amazon.com sent me an email that stated they subcontracted my order to another company and if I wanted resolution that I should go directly to that company. Sorry Amazon.com, last I checked, it was your company through which I made the order, you are responsible for squaring away this issue since your corporate policy is to rely on undependable distributors. By the way, the item was listed as "In Stock" when I made the order. Fortunately, there are so many companies from which to order products these days. I do not recommend Amazon.com's services to anyone. |
