This was for my husband. His original CD's were lost. He has transferred all the songs onto his iPod and can now listen to his favorites while walking on the treadmill, walking outside or using the elliptical. He enjoys music from the past. Great shopping through Amazon. They have everything.

Do most compilations get boring after a while, or do they seem like they don't offer enough diversity? If so, Atlantic Rock & Roll is for you! The diversity is what particularly impresses me about this collection - you get music all the way from the 60s to the 80s, from artists like Buffalo Springfield, Phil Collins, AC/DC, Alice Cooper, and the legendary Rolling Stones! You see a great amount of variety in the musical styles in this set, and it comes with a large book that details the history of the bands featured in the set. You can learn a lot from reading this! For instance, my best friend, who is even more a music buff than I am, and I both learned that Eric Clapton is not credited alone with "Layla", that Derek and the Dominos was the name of the band. Ever since, he is quick to correct people who simply credit that song to Clapton. We also learned about Julian Lennon through this collection. My friend and I never knew about Julian, but he said it's haunting to see how much Julian looks like John, and even more haunting how much their voices sound alike when they sing. If you like good variety in rock music collections, you owe it to yourself to give this one a listen! There's something here for everybody!
