This is a wonderful video. I was there for the making of this video and every time I watch it I enjoy it as much as I did that night. If you like good gospel music this video is for you. There is also another video that goes with this one which is the All Day Singing at the Dome. Both are wonderful and feature the Hoppers, Nelons, Ivan Parker, Candy Christmas, The Happy Goodmans, The Speers, The Bishops, The Gaither Vocal Band, Janet Paschel and of course the crazy Mark Lowery. Buy both you won't be sorry you did. These homcoming videos are wonderful gives you a touch of what heavens choir is going to be like when we get there.

David Phelps has the most wonderful voice. Hope to see much more of him with the Gaither Vocal Band.

I watch your program "Precious Memories" every Wednesday. I was so touched by the music, I've begun collecting the video tapes. And most of all I want to tell you that listening and watching these tapes has lead me to Christ. I want to thank you so much for the inspiration. (David Ring)..What a day wonderful day that will be.....I love that song..

How Bill Gaither can continually bring to the viewer the excitement and joy of Gospel Music is a talent that few men possess. The entire video is full of the "Greats" that make up present day Gospel Music. I would recommend this video to anyone who has lost the excitement of being a Christian as a means of regaining the Love of Christ in their lives. Thank you Bill Gaither.

EVERY Gaither video makes me want to be a Gaither-groupie and follow them around to "Catch the Joy!" On the first viewing, we always have favorite groups and songs, but before long, we're addicted to yet another Gaither video and can't seem to get enough of every minute of every video they do. Today, Atlanta is our very favorite - over the top - the Gaither Vocal Band will convince you, Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, if you had any doubts at all! Pure joy!

This is the first of two Homecoming concerts filmed and recorded at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Playing to an audience of thousands several unique features open the program including: A harmonic arrangement of "Georgia on My Mind" featuring Buddy Greene, and a medley of songs sung by various ensembles made up of favorite Homecoming Friends.
The Lawrenceville Church of God choir is featured singing with Janet Paschal in a moving arrangement of "Something God A-Hold of Me." Among my own personal favorites is: "What a Meeting in the Air" featuring Terry Blackwood, Wesley Pritchard, and David Phelps. Another favorite is: Bob Cain, singing "A Wonderful Time up There." I especially enjoyed Candy Hemphill Christmas and David Phelps singing "Jesus Saves." Ken Davis added a touch of comedy. The Gaither Vocal Band received a standing ovation with their arrangement of "Alpha and Omega." Another number that received an ovation was "We Shall Behold Him" featuring Anthony Burger with a spectacular piano performance and an arrangement of the song sung by the Lawrenceville Choir. The concert featured tributes to: Thomas Dorsey for his music, the Speer family, and others. Romance Watson sang Dorsey's "Peace in the Valley." The concert ended on a powerful note with two moving numbers: "The Church Triumphant" and "Heaven's Jubilee" sung by the Homecoming Friends. Another powerful evening of worship and inspiration. |
