Ok I was a little skeptical of this one with no details as to when this show took place or who was in the band at this point. This is a show from last year that finds the band in fine form. More energy than I expected and a rousing performance. Only one original member in the band but my guess is that this version has as many years under their belt as the original version. Songs are played with authority and enough respect for the original melody; to their credit the band does spice the show up in strategic spots with snatches of "Miss You" from the Rolling Stones and "Purple Haze" by Hendrix. This is as close as you can get to hear the original ARS a brilliant combination of pop, southern rock and believe it or not jazziness. ARS made a fine choice in their lead singer. Kudos for the dvd/cd format at a good price, -1 for piped in crowd noise during the show, not the band's fault. Song titles follow:Track List: DVD 1. Back Up Against The Wall 2. Champagne Jam 3. Alien 4. Doraville 5. Conversation 6. Large Time 7. I'm Not Gonna Let It Bother Me Tonight 8. So Into You 9. Spooky 10. Ballad Of Lois Malone 11. Imaginary Lover 12. I was not aware that this live edition of ARS was available. Leave it up to Amazon to make it available to us fans. You get both a live performance DVD and a Live CD version in this package. This was a very surprising DVD to me. Live performances are normally tough to get right. But they did it right on this one. I had just caught ARS in concert here recently so I had a fresh perspective when I got to view this DVD. And I have to tell you, this was really really good. I am very glad to own it now. I don't know how much longer I will get to see my favorite groups live in action any more. And I am really glad to have such a fantastic example of ARS' live performances in my collection now.

ARS live in Kentucky. I didn't know they were here at home and done recently. ARS play great songs from the 70's. All of their hits and very well done. All the notes and words done in proper structured order. It was fun to see the old band and the new members on stage again. Great price and fast shipping.

This is great southern smooth jam music. It is a recent concert that was filmed in Kentucky. The product is a DVD/CD combo. This review is of the concert dvd. The song set consists of 12 songs with a running time of approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. You get two great guitar players along with a bass guitar player, drums, and the lead singer, plus an outstanding keyboard player/songwriter. Some highlights include: "Champagne Jam" (Very Smooth); "Alien" (Feeling like we don't belong); "Large Time" (a song about performing with Ronnie Van Zant and Lynyrd Skynyrd in Macon,GA); "I'm not gonna let it bother me tonight"; "So into you"; "Spooky" ; "the Ballad of Lois Malone" (about a woman down in south Alabama who really knew how to please a man); and "Imaginary Lover". Overall, its a great, smooth, relaxing concert dvd to watch and enjoy. It contains bonus material of interviews with band members.

I always liked the ARS. Just good old southern rock. I gave this 4 stars cause it's not the original band. The only original guy is the keyboard player. That said, it's a good show. The guitarists really nail everything, technique wise. All the squanks are right where they're supposed to be. If you have some old ARS albums, then you'll enjoy this one. Small venue (looks like maybe a casino) and good sound with minimal camera follies, if you know what I mean.
