I wasn't expecting anything amazing because it was so cheaply priced, but it definitely did not meet my expectations. I have put together many a kit like this and it is just not that great.

First off there is no "fixed middle shelf." So that is just incorrect advertising.

Secondly the curved parts on the front barely stay on. They are only anchored by the little wooden dowels and can flip out to the sides easily instead of staying in place.

Third it is definitely darker than the photo and smaller than I expected.

Fourth I bought this to replace a black DVD shelf I had because most of the stuff in my living room is brown but I might have to keep the black one because this one could fall over. It is pretty wobbly even completely full of DVDs. It does come with wall securing materials however I rent an apartment and they don't want us putting big holes like that in the wall.

Fifth it also states that it has "deep shelves" but the DVDs are barely an inch from the edge.

Now maybe I just had overly high expectations but I just really was expecting a study unit and I do not feel that is what it is. I don't think I am going to return it because to take it back apart would be much more annoying. I was going to give the old black one to my mom but I might just give her this one instead because she has less DVDs and can probably mount it to her wall.

If I were you, I'd buy something else.

Horrible! Amazon should not promote this product. I wish the very strong glue used on the box had been included because I had to glue the thing together since nothing fit together as it was supposed to.

I used this to store some Blu Rays and Xbox games. So far it has met my expectations. I wouldn't say it's the best quality that you can get, but for the price it gets the job done. It also seems to be a bit darker than pictured.

For some strange reason, the backboard of the unit is shipped split in half, even though it would've fit as one solid sheet. So you unfold it, and there's a very visible seam up the center. But since the unit is so (very) small, it shouldn't be a problem to cover it up with DVDs. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who planned on putting small items on it, like shown in the picture.

I guess I couldn't expect too much since you get what you pay for. It is made of pretty cheap material. The picture looks much better in real life as well.

Very nice looking and sturdy dvd stand. Holds a good amount of dvds, or in my case 360 games. Only con I have on this item is that the decorative pieces on the front can often hide a dvd or two from view so I slant mine so that they are all viewable. Plan on buying another one.
