This attractive media storage rack stores any combination of CDs, DVDs and even VHS tapes. Of course you can use it for just one of the three types of media, too. It fits nicely up against a wall and the design with its titanium coloring goes with most contemporary and modern décor. The rack also comes with easy to install and move shelf dividers so that you can split a shelf between two or more different types of media. Very good!

The rack is easy to lift and carry around your room or your home. If you wish to carry this rack across several rooms you would be well advised to carry just the bottom half first and then re-install the upper half of the rack after you place the rack in its new position. One cautionary note: I wouldn't move the rack when it was full or even just partially full, either. Empty the rack before moving it so that you don't risk media spilling all over your floor or shelf dividers coming loose and falling onto your floor.

This rack is particularly useful for persons with large CD collections. Amazon correctly notes that the rack holds over 400 CDs--excellent! At just less than four feet high it won't get in the way of most windows or artwork hanging on the walls of your home.

I have some concerns about the overall construction of the unit and its assembly. Frankly, the instructions were very difficult to understand and I had to actually get a handyman to assemble the thing for me! Amazon states that the rack comes in two pieces--they couldn't be further from the truth. There are a gazillion small screws connecting things and the assembly can take some while. Moreover, even after it's fully assembled the top half and bottom half are connected--but not tightly. This creates the possibility of the top half of the rack leaning either forward or backward depending on the distribution of weight on each shelf. In addition, please be careful not to overload a shelf--it can cause the shelf to bend downward because of the weight on it and then it looks pretty ugly. Even after you cover up that shelf with media, the media themselves are not even because the bent shelf on which they rest is uneven. Sigh.

In short, this is a good rack as long as you are great with mediocre instructions that can be rather cryptic at times. It reliably holds a great deal of media but as I mentioned above it cannot be manhandled--use care when moving this rack! Once you do get past the instructions, however, I would highly recommend this media storage rack by Atlantic for anyone with larger media collections.

A simple, straightforward approach to arrange DVD's in a convenient fashion for browsing just like at a retail outlet, but...

the buyer should only purchase after carefully thinking this transaction through because Amazon hides this item from recent history until Circuit City "completes" the sale (true story). This minor lapse in ethics prevents the optional ease of cancellation of the order which a regular patron of Amazon might have grown accustomed to.

Good product. Lousy approach. It's price recently rose from $60 to $90 new. Still, it has more capacity for the buck than the wave racks; though, it absolutely lacks in style--a nice, effective, ugly, sturdy and practical rack (not toad ugly--just a little homely): 1950/60-ish back when Tang came in any flavor you wanted as long as it was orange. It could appeal to anybody who appreciates the artistry of formica on pressed wood, yet jammed full with DVD's, the guests should barely notice.

Good deal, would buy from same again (3-20-05: out of stock--dang nabbit!)--some e-shops have it for $50. Yahoo! No offense meant, Amazon.

This thing is a piece of junk. I put it all together and it's wobbly and if you lift it from the top it will fall apart. Filling the entire thing with DVDs is a real chore. You have to balance them perfectly or they will fall off. If someone accidently bumps into this you're pretty much going to have to redo everything. This thing is way overpriced. The only positive thing is that it looks OK. Whenenver I try to put back a DVD or two I always seem to have about 3 other DVDs fall off into the back of the unit (it's against the wall).

I purchased two of these units and received them very quickly. I disagree with previous reviewers comments about the difficulty in assembly. Although the instructions are not the best, a quick read of the assembly diagrams and a close look at the pictures on the shipping box gave me more than enough information to quickly and properly assemble this unit. It took about 35 minutes to assemble the first unit, and less than 20 minutes for the second.

Also, I am not quite sure what people are storing on these racks that would cause the rails to bend. The rails are made of pretty sturdy metal and are unlikely to bend when fully loaded with DVDs -- at least mine have not. It is a very sturdy unit.

Anyway, I fully recommend this storage unit and it should hold up very well (unless you are storing cinder blocks). Again, a little common sense and good look at the pictures on the box will serve you well during assembly.

I've bought several of these storage racks during the past few months in order to display my ever growing DVD collection. Although I don't use them as such, they are easily adjustable to hold CD's as well. I find them to be very sturdy, very stylish, and take up very little room to hold so many DVD's. For the price, they are a bargain!

I've had the Atlantic storage rack for about 6 months now and haven't run into any problems despite the missing screw. It's a sturdy piece of furniture on a hard surface floor (wouldn't recommend it on carpeted floors). If you're looking for a cheap DVD/CD rack that's not at all bad looking, and wouldn't mind the time needed to assemble, then this is the storage rack for you.

I was looking for CD/DVD storage for long time.
I have close to 200 CD/DVDs and didn't want bulk furniture item to stay in my living room.
I came across with this one and before I bought it I was reading reviews for it on a different websites.

And here is my review.
This storage system doesn't take a lot of space and it is easy to assemble.
I have my rack filled up almost up to the full capacity and it's very stable.
But if you don't have enough CDs or DVDs to put on this rack they will not stay on it. If you touch one, the other disks will probably fall down behind the rack (if you don't catch them fast enough). To prevent disks falling off the rack you have to use plastic dividers. Dividers come in the package but not enough (about one per row).
But if you don't have enough disks to put on this rack look for the smaller one.

This cd rack seemed flimsy at first. After assembly though it was quite strong and stable. It is actually 2 separate racks after assembly. Only 2 feet were supplied and would have preferred an additional 2 feet since I use both racks as stand alone units. Maybe additional feet can be obtained from the manufacture. For the money it is the best value considering how many cd's this system can handle.

This is quite simply the best DVD rack I have ever had. I plan on buying another.

This dvd rack has a nice design but also holds a really good amount of DVDs. Takes a bit of time to install and if you don't pay very close attention you will end up redoing the steps. If you need a DVD rack I would really recommend buying ones from this company.
