Atlantic Compass 21". Very good for the money. This is a 4 wheel bag. Appears to meet all domestic and international carry-on regulations. I would have to say that I am quite disappointed in this product. 4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Budget Carry-On Luggage, July 11, 2010

Atlantic Compass 21". Very good for the money. This is a 4 wheel bag. Appears to meet all domestic and international carry-on regulations. Be carefull of other carry-on bags out there as some may not meet international carry-on rules. This one seems to be correct. This is a good quality bag. Well designed and well made. I had previously ordered a Samsonite II 20" and that bag seemed way too small. Returned that one. The Samsonite II had better features. On the Samsonite - the pull up handle is adjustable in height. This bag here only has one length on the pull out handle - all the way out. Not a big deal but the adjustable pull out handle on the Samsonite II was a neat feature. The seems/stictching on the Samsonite appear to be of a different design - and a better design. This Atlantic Compass 21" does appear to have strong neat stitching and does look solid. I did find some loose black threads - that I immediately cut. Wouldn't find that issue on a Samsonite - but the Samsonite is twice the price. Not a big deal to me. Two pockets on top - one bigger and one smaller. When bags is on wheels - the top/side smaller pocket is good for passport and airline ticket. Then a larger pocket below. there is a 3rd full bag zipper pocket - that makes this bag expandable by a couple of inches - nice feature. Then the main zipper for the entire bag. The main cabin if roomy and good for a week trip for me - enough for casual clothing. There is also a full length/width mesh see thru zipper inside bag. This Atlantic Compass 21" comes with a plastic snap to attach another smaller bag to this bag. Also comes with a thin light weight garmet bag. Comes with two handles. One on top and one on side. Nicely lined interior with the small clear plastic bag that attaches. Two cloth straps inside. And some elastic pockets inside main cabin/bag. I got the red. Only because it makes it easier for me to find my bag in the overhead bin or anyplace else. Color is more of a maroon softer red. This bag is not a Samsonite nor a Pierre Cardin - but it is a good value. My last carry-on was a generic - but lasted for 15 years until I hit a granite curb very hard in London. I broke the wheel on that generic bag. That is why I purchased a new bag. I only travel a few times per year - so an expensive bag is not for me. This Atlantic Compass 21" is a good bag and good value. I do love the 4 wheels function.

5.0 out of 5 stars Results from recent 4 day trip., November 13, 2010
I just flew 6 legs in 4 days, and overall I am very satisfied with this bag.

Upon arrival, I was immediately impressed with the solid construction. Everything was tight, seams were good. All components seem very strong, including a few extra kick-pads to protect the corners.

If I have any concerns it would be for the pull handle, but mine seems to be holding up. there just seems to be a little play in the vertical handle joints. I do, however, really appreciate the length as I am 6'4" and I think they'll last. I picked up my heavy bag via the extended handle several times with no issues.

I will never go back to a 2 wheeled suitcase. These 4 wheels are awesome. The simplicity, and usefulness! It's really great.

The wheel casters are strong and smooth.

I filled my bag with a winter coat, so unzipped the expand a bag zipper (adds 3"). This worked well, with the only negative being a slight tendency for the bag to tip forward. If i would have packed better, i most likely wouldn't have noticed. I had to park it on a wall mostly, front towards the wall, to avoid the tipping. When I removed my coat, and closed the expand a zipper, the forward tipping stopped.

Fits into the overhead bins no problem. (i was on Boeing 700 series planes, 3 seats on the right, 2 on the left.)

It has served me well this week. especially considering i paid about $80. I wouldn't have minded paying over $100 for this bag.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, April 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I would have to say that I am quite disappointed in this product. I have the Samsonite Silhouette suitcases and I love them, but I wanted a new carry-on and I thought I would branch out to a new company. The Samsonites have held up for a long time and I absolutely love the "spinner" suitcases. They are easy to manage when you have your hands full with luggage and a baby. That is one of the good things about the suitcase. It has the spinner wheels and it is very easy to roll. The second good thing is that it looks nice. But that is where the good things end. These are my main issues with the suitcase:
1- the wheels are very close together on the bottom, so the suitcase flips over very easily. If you have anything packed in the top or front side of the suicase then it will no longer stand upright. It is very annoying to have a suitcase constantly falling over.
2- the zipper broke on the suitcase on the first trip. Very sad :(

Overall, I would not purchase this suitcase again. All of the trouble is not worth saving the extra $50. I will now go back and purchase the samsonite silhouette carry-on again.

This suitcase looks much better in person than in the pictures. The handle telescopes pretty high compared to my last carry-on roller. The wheels are not the rollerblade wheels that I'm used to, but these do have some soft covering to avoid the noisy and bumpy ride of cheaper plastic wheels.

The handles look sturdy and tuck in nicely to the sides, and I like that the front pockets have two zippers so you can just open it from the top, enough to take your stuff out without opening the whole pocket. Some just have one zipper that has to be opened from one side to the other to get into the pocket, which could let some things fall out as you open it.

I can't wait to take this on a trip - it has a garment bag and a place to hang the garment bag inside the suitcase, also has a plastic waterproof bag for toiletries - I hope it is a 1 Gallon size for carry on restrictions.

It does not seem likely to tip over like others I have tried.

I will update this review as I get more use out of the bag, but so far it like it and expect to have this for quite a while. For this price, vs. other brands than can cost $200 and up, I think it is a good deal.

I purchased this suitcase for a trip to Europe. In the mean time I've used it twice to take small trips nearby and it's worked beautifully. The zipper is a bit stiff when rounding the corners of the suitcase which I'm sure in an expensive one wouldn't be a problem. There is lots of room inside. I like the spinner wheels. It helps when wheeling it around. On our Europe trip we will be taking it on one large airline and two smaller ones. It will be interesting to see if it gets rejected as a carry-on in any of them. I'll report back later if I had any problems.

Looked at many, many suitcases in stores and on line. This one seemed to fit all my needs as a carry-on bag.

After receiving it and traveling with it, I am very impressed. The four wheels make it very easy to manipulate through the airport customer traffic jams - Inside layout makes packing easier. Zippers look strong and secure - WELL DONE, Atlantic!

5.0 out of 5 stars great suit case, June 22, 2011
I travel a lot and the four wheels are great for the long hikes through the airports. It's light weight and easy to get in the over head bin. Plus I can get everything packed for the whole week.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy Suitcase, August 21, 2011

***Update, after using it on several more trips, I am a bit disappointed by the quality of this product. When I use the handle to pull the luggage behind me, the suitcase hops from side to side (almost like there is something wrong with the wheels, although visually nothing is amiss). As for the size, zippers, and outward material, it has withstood the various trips.

I am very happy with my purchase. The suitcase is just the right size for check in (fit into the overhead bin), the handles have worked smoothly, and fits just enough stuff for a short trip (and I'm not known as a light packer).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Carry-On, October 7, 2011

This review is from: Atlantic Compass 21" Expandable Carry-On Spinner Suiter (Apparel)
I am a college student, and I recently was granted an interview with a pretty big company that wanted to fly me out to talk to me. Long story short, it is three days before I need to leave, and I realize that I don't own any suitable luggage for a carry on. Off to Amazon! (I don't know what I would do without Prime) I compared all of the carry on luggage in roughly this price range, and settled on this as what appeared to be the best option. I believe I made the right choice. This is a very well constructed bag. Granted, it has only been on two flights, but it is still in perfect condition. The expandability is nice, as are the 4 casters that allow for easy movement. (Really came in handy in the airport) The color of the bag looks much better in person than in the pictures. Overall, don't hesitate to get this if you are looking for a great carry on bag.

Pros:
Built Well
Color Better than Pictures
Suit Bag
Expandable
4 casters for easy movement

Cons:
a teeny bit on the heavy side

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite carry-on, August 17, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was a little concerned about the name a suiter carry-on. Basically the only difference is it comes with a suiter bag which I removed. I studied many suitcases before I picked this one. It fits in the overhead compartment on the plane but I do not use the expendible, it may be too tight. I use it for all my travel and only take what this suitcase can hold and that is it. The price was right and size was perfect. When my husband's carry-on breaks down, I will buy another one of this brand for him. This was my 1st spinner and I do like the feature.
