3.0 out of 5 stars Nice game for the price., August 16, 2004
This review is from: ATLANTIS UNDERWATER TYCOON (Electronics)
Overall, I liked this game. The lack of documentation is probably what bothers me the most. The game is filled with buildings, weird icons, and a strange rating system with nothing to explain how they work but the tutorial, which is somewhat limited. Example: a building will warn you of a -2% sealife rating, but only one circle will be red colored. Then a building with a -2% happiness rating will have 2 circles red colored. What is that about? It also has some choppy graphics, and the whales have too many sharp edges to look real, but the game does give you the feeling of being underwater and building a city at the bottom of the ocean. I like that you can dig for buried treasure, but found that one click on a hill will dig too deep and you have to raise the land level to make it even again. I actually found this game more engaging than Moon Tycoon which was created by the same people. I think they should have kept the original name Deep Sea Tycoon, which sounds much more interesting than Atlantis Underwater Tycoon. As for bugs, the game has crashed on me once and there are very long load times, but I think this game is mostly bug free. I do recommend this game, it is interesting to play and worth the money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Swishy-Washy Graphics, April 16, 2006

The game is simple and easy to play. Except the different characters do NOT have any affect on the game. All game senarios are the same for each character. One problem I didn't like was the 'Swishy-Washy' graphics under the water. Makes a person a little sea-sick. Waving back and forth across the computer screen. Also some of the background color settings are a little too dark and very hard to distinguish the buildings and other parts of the city.
