This new color atlas features practical guidance on the management of a full range of aesthetic issues using liposuction. It examines the most appropriate strategies for liposuction of the abdomen and trunk, extremities, face and neck, and breast. • Examines the advantages and disadvantages of ultrasound-assisted, external ultrasound-assisted, and power-assisted liposuction.

  • Explores the appropriate use of limited and complete abdominoplasty as well as abdominoplasty in combination with liposuction.

Editorial Reviews

Review

Doody's Rating: * *
Ten chapters delve into various facets of liposuction of the face, breasts, arms, abdomen, hips and lower extremities. Additional topics focus upon various abdominoplasty procedures, fat replacement, and ancillary liposuction techniques using ultrasound and power-assisted liposuction rounding out the presentation. Concepts that the author wishes to impart to the reader are highlighted throughout the chapters in "clinical pearl" boxes. These "pearls" are a compilation of insights with either historical interest to the author or educational value for the reader. General consideration regarding the overall care of liposuction patients is well processed and is one of the bright spots.
Weighted Numerical Score: 58

"The book is well produced, enjoyable to read, and contains much good advice and many pearls, for example, the value of external ultrasonic-assisted liposuction, which the author uses a lot. The author and his friends and colleagues who have contributed anecdotes and advice are to be congratulated. For those embarking on liposuction and also those who practice it but want to learn more-this is the book for you." --European Journal of Plastic Surgery, published online 27 July 2005, 28:375

"A good reference to all practicing plastic surgeons. An invaluable resource to beginning practitioners of this art." --Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, October 2005

"The book is easy to read and has interesting techniques which make it enjoyable and fun to read. Many plastic surgeons have suppplied comments, these range from interesting anecdotes to technical advice, this makes for enjoyable interlueds in the text. There are a large number of illustrations and photographs, which show good results but also are used to point out problems and how they have been rectified. The book is well-produced, enjoyable to read, and contains much good advice and many pearls." --European Journal of Plastic Surgery
