These gloves are fantastic! I have very small hands with pretty short fingers, and these are the first garden gloves I have ever found where I don't have a bunch of extra glove at the end of each finger. I can actually handle small objects with the gloves on. They are well ventilated so your hands don't get real hot, and they are extremely tough. I am ordering a...

2.0 out of 5 stars Big disappointment
Perhaps there are other brands of nitrile gloves that are excellent, but NOT these Atlas brand gloves. Although they do fit well, they offer very little protection from typical gardening woes such as thorns or cuts, and they offer NO protection from moisture. The nitrile coating is minimal both in area-coverage and thickness; it needs to be farther back on the fingers and...

5.0 out of 5 stars Most excellent gloves for gardening and the like., May 16, 2009
This review is from: Atlas Nitrile Gardening and Work Gloves, Green Apple, Small
I have always hated leather gardening gloves (not impervious to tearing, get grossly stiff after exposure to moisture, 'baggy' fit, etc.) and have been searching for an alternative. I found it!

These gloves are extremely comfortable, and, in my estimation, sized properly - I purchased size SMALL. To give you an idea of my hand size, my ring finger is size 5 and my hand span (from bottom of palm to tip of my middle finger) is 6.5". For these gloves to work best, you need to have a slightly snug fit.

The mesh is breathable, but the nitrile coating along the palm and fingers is not - so you may have some sweaty palms after wearing them for prolonged periods of time - but that is a small price to pay for gloves that let you work in comfort. I have started the spring gardening routine (including the heavy duty use of rakes, hoes, shovels and shop brooms) with ZERO blisters to show for it. My grip is better with these gloves, and that sure helps with weeding and any job requiring a good grasp.

The price is unbeatable, and they come in a wide array of kicky colors. I purchased apple green, dahlia pink and onyx black. Love all three pair! Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Gardening Gloves, October 30, 2008

These gloves are great for garden work! They are strong and don't tear, but are thin enough to feel what you are doing, e.g., planting seedlings; pinching off dead blooms, weeding, etc. Other gloves are either too heavy to work with small items, or if thin enough they tear easily.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great gloves for detailed work - Not completely waterproof, December 11, 2008

This review is from: Atlas Nitrile Gardening and Work Gloves, Green Apple, Small
I recently bought these gloves as a gift, and was very surprised when the package came and they said they are Equestrian gloves, for working with horses. No where on the package did it say work gloves for gardening, which is the use I had entended them for. However, the package did say "Atlas NT370 Nitrile" before the words equestrian, so I just figured that is the way they come. I took off the tags before wrapping.

I bought the small size and tried them on, but there is a little extra room at the finger tips - I have child sized hands so that's not surprising. I was impressed by the Nitrile covering - I can see how it would be easy to work with small seeds - the Nitrile seems to be a slip-proof grip. The places where the Nitrile covers - bottom of hands and finger tips - would be waterproof, while the top of hand and wrist are made of a breathable weave - like a thick, soft mesh fabric. The packaging says the fabric does not get stiff when it gets wet.

Bottom line, great glove for any type of outdoor work - inlcuding working with animals and plants. Not waterproof, but water resistant. Appears to be washable, which is always great. Would buy again, especially for under $5.00!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute BEST Gardening Glove Ever!!, March 21, 2011

I love love love these gloves. I had bought a pair at a discounted store 3years ago and every time I put them in the garden, I just say....I hope I can find these somewhere again. I wanted another pair for the weekends that you work 2 days in a row. So sometimes they might be still moist. I just thought to go online since spring is coming...I found them for such a great price here. I bought the green. I told my mother she MUST get these too. I have been using garden gloves for years and just used to throw any pair in the carriage. Never really liking the fit on any or hold up durability. I have a regular size hand. I ordered a Small and they work very well. Not tight at all. I strongly say....try these and you will be hooked ....!!!!!

Atlas gloves are the most comfortable & flexible gloves we own, perfect for yard & garden work. Amazing strong for their thickness they are not bulky and the wrist bands are long enough to protect wrists from poison ivy & tree branch scratches. Since they are not stiff or floppy we can use them for jobs we used to be able to do only with bare hands. Our fingernails & hands are protected from dirt when planting or repotting plants. My daughter has small hands & likes that she can find gloves in a small size. I like that I can wash my gloved hands just like I would my bare hands easily. They dry quickly and will be clean for the next day. Our family has tried many types of gloves for outdoor work these are hands down the best light weight gloves we own.

5.0 out of 5 stars My wife loves them, August 5, 2011
This review is from: Atlas Nitrile Gardening and Work Gloves, Green Apple, Small
My wife says these are the best gardening gloves ever, and she's been gardening since the 1970s. In fact, a couple of ladies in her garden club have tried them and wanted to know what I got them so they could order them. I suspect that by next summer, all the garden club members will own at least one pair. I had to order additional ones for my wife and I think we are now proud owners of at 6 pairs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Workin' night & day, August 3, 2011

These gloves are awesome! They've lasted through gardening, building the greenhouse, hauling the rock & landscape materials. They've still got some life left. I will buy MORE of these - time & effort tested by me. I love them because I can still feel what I'm doing in them, and they breathe. My fingers don't look like sweaty sausages or a bloody mess after a days work in these gloves. They are worth having around for those little projects or the big backyard ones too.

Outstanding flexibility and sensitivity. You can actually feel what you are picking up. Their life expectancy is comparable to other gloves except you will wear them all of the time.

I really like these gloves, it is almost like you not wearing gloves at all. My only issue was that the lime green gloves were not as vibrant in color as the picture made it seem.
