Book Description

February 1990 0815135416 978-0815135418
Radiologists who use ultrasound are plagued with a variety of contradictory data regarding the correct measurements of organs and foetal parts. This book is intended as a comprehensive resource of research, review and analysis of measurements. It includes coverage of standard and seldom-used measurements in full range of ultrasonographic applications. Examples are featured with nearly 300 sonograms of each of the measurements with variations. The book opens with an introduction on understanding measurements and proceeds to cover specific areas in more detail, including the head and neck, echocardiography, the abdomen, gynaecology and obstetrics, with coverage of the three trimesters of pregnancy and multiple gestations. The work pulls together charts, tables and other information relating to measurements in all areas of the body, with special emphasis on measurements thought to be the most appropriate.

5.0 out of 5 stars great book, April 6, 2007
This book is the most valuable single US text in my collection. Used every day for both measurements and technique and it seems to cover just about everything! Now we just need an on line version for PACS workstations. I have purchased three copies so far..... bsg

5.0 out of 5 stars Great reference to use on a daily basis for sonographers and sonologists, February 27, 2009

This is an excellent reference for any sonographer or sonologist in the field of Ultrasound/Diagnostic Radiology.

Each chapter has a brief introduction, material and methods and discussion of various topics in obstetrics, gynecological and pediatric measurements. Normograms and charts outline the range of normals. Images also reinforce the proper methods of measurement.

This is a must have reference that I refer to when practicing (especially with screening obstetric examinations and pediatric patients).
