My son loves geography. He has a globe and map of the world with each nation's flag and a lot of books. I thought I had this subject covered until I ran across this the 3D Atlas. This book is amazing and your child doesn't have to be into geography to love it.

There are 50 photos for the 3D glasses. They make the mountains pop off the pages. He still oohs and aahs when he looks at it and not to worry, when the glasses are eventually lost (you know this will happen), the book still manages to keep their interest. It is written for a child and the facts from around the world will capture their imagination and expand their view. My son was particularly fascinated to learn that chewing gum was against the law in Singapore and there were severe punishments for littering! It comes filled with all kinds of fun facts that appeal to kids.

This book is perfect for a gift - I just ordered one and discovered it was much cheaper here at Amazon. There is a whole series of books in the 3D line (I can recommend the Extreme 3-D Scary Bugs! (Extreme 3-D) one as well) by different authors.

My 5-year-old daughter loves maps, and this book is her very favorite. She spends hours studying the 3-D maps. The only problem is now she wants to travel to every single place in the book....

Loved this book, and my grandsons loved it too. So right for so many ages!! (They are 10&11)

Children really enjoyed this book. The 3-D glasses were a little flimsy, but overall good buy.

We have all enjoyed looking at this gift for my 7-year old and the pictures in 3D are breathtaking. This book has sparked an interest in landmarks,geography, and the process of shooting in 3D. We will purchase more to give as birthday gifts for other second graders - although I believe kids as young as four and as kids as old as 99 would enjoys this book!

We enjoyed the 3-D view of the maps and the photos. I can understand the disappointment of the reviewer who said that the photos lack detail--this is not a detailed atlas, it's true. It is fun for getting an idea of topography and kind of bringing the world to life through the photos, being able to imagine the cities in the mountains, etc.

My 8 year old niece loves reading, so I thought she would enjoy this book for Christmas. She loved it! After she was done unwrapping her presents, the first thing she did was go to her room with her cousins and look at the book. She then went around and made all the adults try on the glasses and look at the book. Needless to say, she loved it! The images are great and really look like they are popping out, and the text is really interesting.

Since most adults,let alone children,can't find countries or even continents on a map these days, this dynamic atlas is an exciting tool for taking a world tour. And remembering where you've been.

I bought his book for my 8 year Grandson,who love maps. atlas, etc.
It's a beautiful book, however the 3D part just really messes it up!
Pictures terrible without 3D glasses, and still blurry with them. We were rather disappointed
