I bought this pointer for my cats. I'm tired of spending $5 on toy pointers with special batteries that I can't find. This one uses standard AAA batteries, furthermore, I don't have to worry about eye damage since it's rated Class II.

I searched long and hard for a class 2 pointer that looked durable enough for regular use and that would be as safe as possible in a 5th grade classroom. Many low energy laser vendors fail to publish their laser class. Class 2 lasers are the safest possible pointers, and a 1mw laser is all you need for indoor applications. No, it won't burn through a baloon. Thank heavens.

I work for a leading industrial glass construction company and my job takes me all over the world. At the job site the language barrier can be hard to over come, but when trying to explain what has to be done my Atlasnova 635nm Red Laser pointer makes life much easier. The very bright red dot works well in a open warehouse as well as on the steel construction. The batteries last a long time, but there are times when I need to take the batteries out and clean the contact points of the batteries and the contact point on the removable end. In all the Atlasnova 635nm Red Laser pointer is one of the most used tools in my tool bag.

I bought two of these pointers for general use doing PowerPoint presentations in front of small and large groups of people. The pointer is just right for this use, and unlike other pointers I've used, I happen to like the intensity of the light (I have had others in the past that were too intense). The price is good, too.

The main point of this review, though, is to comment on the company. I had trouble with one of the pointers after receiving it. After the pointer failed I brought the circumstances to the attention of the company. With little more than my explanation and a couple of email exchanges verifying my purchase, the company immediately sent a replacement at no cost for product or shipping; the replacement pointer works perfectly. I know every day we are decrying the state of American business and the problems with our economy, but this is a company with integrity that stands by their product and values their customer. I would give them my business again easily.

I needed a pointer to use in anatomy for school to point out structures on the projector slides. The laser is solid red, beam is strong, and best of all, uses AAA batteries, not the coin shaped ones that you have to go out of your way to get. It's also nice to have the peace of mind that the laser is class II and won't accidentally burn out my classmates' eyes. Bonus, my cat seems to love it.

Atlasnova customer service was excellent. The first laser they shipped me was a dud. I sent them an email and they rushed another one to me at no cost! Second one is perfect.

This is a nice low power laser pointer. I wanted to get a decent but low power pointer for use indoor. I want to be able to point at things on a board; on the wall and on tv. This works really well.

The good:
* Price
* Seems well made.
* Uses regular batteries.
* Bright for its low power.
* Made in Taiwan.
* As safe as the ever get.

The bad:
* Low power means you cannot do much with it outside specially in the day.
* Won't light a match. But no one expects a 1 mw laser to :-)

This is awesome! We got it for our cat who loves to chase the laser dot. He kept burning out the cheap ones that you can get at the store and you can't find replacement batteries for them ever!

We can use AAA rechargeable batteries with this laser pointer which is a great money saver and it is the main reason that we spent $28 on a cat toy in the first place!

It is a nice, sturdy black metal pen style laser pointer that feels much better than the plastic mouse shaped ones we had been buying for him.

Also, this is a Class II laser, which is the safest level out there for your (and your cats) eyes. It's nice to know that we won't make our cat blind while he's having fun with the laser! You can find cheaper laser pointers but they will be a Class III or higher which is far more dangerous to use. Not worth it in my opinion.

Spend the extra money and get a safe, quality laser pointer from a great company that stands behind their products! You and your cat will love it, we promise.

I like this pointer because it has a heavy and sturdy feel to it, unlike most of the $5.99 red pointers. It has survived several months of being toted around in my work bag inside its case. It also takes AAA alkaline batteries so they will be easy to replace when that becomes necessary.

The downside to this product is not really a downside to the product itself. It comes in a carrying case which is difficult to open. The pointer can also get loose inside the case and rattle around.

I use this pointer in my computer classes. I use it to point out spots on the computer screen for the students to select. It is bright enough to do the trick without burning out the retinas of the students. It is made of metal and has a quality feel to it. The on/off switch is positive and not at all sloppy. Overall a quality purchase.

I haven't used it much, but this laser pointer seems perfectly fine. Bright red dot, but it's not too bright for presentations in a small room. Can't comment about durability or longevity, but I'm very happy with it.
