Product Description

The Atlona AT-HD560 is an advanced HDMI to HDMI Scaler. Any HDMI input resolution could be up-converted up to 1080p or down-converted as well to any resolution (listed in the technical specifications). The AT-HD560 is also a perfect solution for converting 50Hz to 60Hz or 60Hz to 50Hz, this feature will allow you to connect HDMI video source from a PAL format region to a NTSC region, for example, a European HD source to a USA TV with HDMI input.

After purchasing the Samsung 7000 series LED and exporting it to South Africa it was rather problimatic watching Digital satelite as the transmission here is PAL 50Hz. Once I received my AT-HD560 PAL-NTSC converter the picture couldn't be BETTER. Just as it says without any adjustments I could watch PAL digital transmission on my NTSC TV. I would reccomend this to anyone and everyone if you are having the same problem. WELL DONE Atlona....!

Heinrich.

Moved recently from the USA to South Africa, my new Sony Bravia 55" LCD Tv from the US did not work with the switch from NTSC signal to PAL. Got this device, plugged it in via the HDMI cables and now have perfect HD TV coming from my DSTV satellite box. Excellent device, it works out what it needs to convert to and from itself, I did not even need to access the menu options to set it up, it just worked perfectly first time. Easy way to make your TV world-wide compatible. Interestingly, I dont need one of these converters for my Vizio TVs from the USA, turns out Vizio TVs are both 110v/240v and NTSC/PAL compatible already and so these TVs made the move international without any effort at all. Well done Vizio, take note Sony.

Well, I bought this from HD Wise, in an attempt to clean up the audio drop out on ATT Uverse, which is a problem they are still working on a firmware fix for. After I ordered it I realized that I ordered the wrong one to do what I thought it would do. I meant to order the HD-570. Anyway, this little unit cured the problem, because the Uverse DVR can now be set to Stereo which cures the audio dropout problem, but still transmits 5.1 Dolby Digital to my Yamaha via the optical output from the Uverse box to the HD-560, and then to the receiver.
The pleasant surprise was the fantastic up conversion of this little box. After going through a very easy to understand setup menu, I found the up conversion to be absolutely phenomenal. I own the very first LG 60 inch 1080p plasma, now three years old. The Uverse DVR transmits HD in 1080i. The HD-560 read the Uverse DVR output perfectly at 1080i/60. I set the output on the 560 to 1080p/50 and made some other fine tune adjustments, and shazam, the up convert to 1080p was far better than the 1080i from the Uverse DVR. It cleaned up the edges on lettering, and corrected the color saturation where the blacks are deeper and the colors are more vivid.
I have the U-450 package with Uverse, so I have all of the movie channels. Tonight when I got off work, I was switching channels on the same cinimax show from the HD channel to the standard definition channel. I could barley see a difference because the up convert was that good.
I considered buying the DVDO Edge, but in reality, it will not make blu-rays on my LG BDP-570 look any better, so all I wanted to up convert was the Uverse DVR, because I watch that more than the blu-rays. In lieu of the DVDO Edge, I will most likely buy 2 more of these for my Toshiba 240 Clear scan LCD TVs.
I will give this little unit a 5 star rating, because I am totally pleased, even though I ordered the wrong one, its a keeper.

I am using this in India for the TV (UN55D7000) that I purchased in USA to watch HD channels using local dish provider (TataSky). It works perfect without any setup required. Too good.

Just that, it heats up when using it continuously for long hours (4-5 hours).

Researched video converters for quite a while and decided on this HDMI based converter. Located in europe and using a US TV (Samsung LED 8000 series). Local Telenet cable box had PAL HDMI. Unpacked the converter, plugged in the in and out HDMI, powered it up (multi voltage/line frequency power supply) and it worked. No adjustment and great picture. It did take a couple of seconds to auto-configure. Only thing you will need is an additional HDMI cable and a plug adapter.

Works perfectly, my Sony TV is very picky when it comes to formats but this was "plug N play" however, i was a bit disapointed when I opened the box and had to go buy 2 HDMI cables when it wasnt a cheap converter. converts PAL to NTSC perfectly and upscales to almost perfect quality. Very pleased with the apparatus itself, just was disappointed by the not included cables.

I arrived in the USA with 100s of DVDs, a high quality HDMI player and had to get a US NTSC TV. Naturally the two did not work together. I bought Atlone converter, which arrived promptly. I just plugged it in between the player and the TV and it worked pefectly, with no need to make any adjustments or use the menu system. Wonderful product!
