Good, informative biographical section.
A must have for every fan.
But at that price I expected more quality on the photo reprodutions.

Mamie Van Doren is one of those cult favourites whose movies are hard to get on DVD. Apart from Teacher's Pet where she's a scream as Clark Gable's blonde bimbo love interest, Slackers where she shows her breasts in an hilarious cameo role as an old bedridden whore, the cobbled together non-speaking role she had in Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women, and her nude beer bath in Three Nuts in Search of a Bolt, there's not much available.

This book reveals in depth what we're missing. It's pricey, but worth the expense for the great collection of over 100 movie stills and the detailed examination of her movies. The author, Barry Lowe, also had Mamie's invaluable collaboration including her Foreword, one of the best I've ever read in a film book.

The biographical section is revealing without being sleazy but it's upfront about Mamie's sexual adventures. I knew nothing about her Vietnam tours to entertain American troops, and little of her life after her movie career dried up in the 1960s. This is a great addition to any film buff's library.

I just got this book today, and throughly enjoyed it. It is very well written and researched, with many pictures of this very beautiful lady. The price is steap, but if your a fan, this book is a must!
