5.0 out of 5 stars Atomic genius
After listening to every song at least three times I still could not take this cd out of my player!! Pat Bucanan is a musical talent that exudes nothing but pure genius. His rhythm on guitar is second to none; vocals (all the umbrellas - christina ) on par with the best.. "Look out world"!! I rate this cd 5 STARS; because this is the type of music I've been looking for...

1.0 out of 5 stars Atomic Fireball
I read a good review in Select magazine about this album, so I bought it blindly. Then, I took it home, listened to it, and I was very disappointed. The songs sounded flat, generic and not at all inspiring. Some introductions, such as "Lady Satellite", were interesting, however ruined as soon Pat Buchanan's whiney vocals fused in with the melody. His rhythm on guitar is second to none; vocals (all the umbrellas - christina ) on par with the best.. "Look out world"!! I rate this cd 5 STARS; because this is the type of music I've been looking for! Energetic, upbeat, totally unique with masterful songs written by someone who has listened to their heart; PERIOD! With soulful sounds radiating from Pat's vocals accompanied by zeal, passion and most of all unpolluted spirit. Best yet, Pat has to be one of the greatest guitar players in the world! (Bar None - Evidence: atomic fireball) Where do I sign up to get on the fan list!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Record, May 20, 2001

Great jangly pop is alive and well all over Atomic Fireball, whether your preference is the flat-out rev of the title track or the sweet pulse and bounce of "Penelope wild." Lead singer Pat Buchanan is a flat-out great singer, maybe the best voice I've heard all year. Paste that in front of a band that is as versatile as it is talented and you're in for a real keeper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Overlooked Great Record, September 22, 2011
This review is from: Atomic Fireball (Audio CD)
This is a sadly overlooked, great recording from Not Lame Records. I highly recommend it. Every song on this album is a winner. The guitars sparkle and crackle with energy. The songs include a great mix of lovely slow melodic tunes and energetic toe tapping rockers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rave, July 14, 2001

Rave review for these guys. This CD is a must for all Beatle, XTC, and Crowded House fans. Every song on the disc is a real gem, sparkling with brillant guitar work, McCartney inspired bass lines, cool retro keyboards and fab drums. And that's just what is under the vocals! Pat Buchanan deserves to be singled out for praise as lead vocalist, background vocalist, guitarist, cowriter and coproducer. All of Pat's vocals are very strong, whether on a rocking track like "Everytime You're With Me", or a lovely ballad like "All the Umbrellas". Pat's stacks of background vocals are gorgeous on every cut, but check out the fade on "Chritina" in particular. As for his guitar work, what can I say? This guy can do it all - beautiful big beds of acoustics, classic 12 string riffs, and aggressive, punchy electric work. Guitarists, this is the guy to beat. This one goes to 11!
