READ THE BOOK - Critique the content - not the author,

This review is from: Atomic Iran: How the Terrorist Regime Bought the Bomb and American Politicians (Hardcover)
You may disagree with the politics - that is fair. However, when you read reviews that are based on the "person," only, rather then the content of the book- that is, in one word, sophomoric. For example, one reviewer stated: "More lies and distorions from the scum behind the Swift Boat liars. Don't waste your money." This offers what to any serious discussion. Further, I would garner a bet that the person has not read the book. Mr. Corsi posits some very serious theories, that if have an iota of truth, we should consider. If one person does not consider Iran to be an imminent threat to our society and way of life, that person lives in a land that contains the likes of the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus. This is a new world; what transpired on 9/11/01 change the world forever. Evaluate the content of the book; look for discrepancies or something to challenge his conclusions. Leave the personal attacks out. It accomplishes little.

Anyone reading this who reasonably pays attention to daily world events should be able to see for themselves how close we are coming to an outright nuclear exchange. The section that describes in chilling detail what to expect if a moderate sized nuclear bomb detonates in New York is chilling to say the least!!
I know its ridiculous, but every member of congress and each of the nightly news anchors, should be forced to read this chapter. There is a very real danger here that dosen't seem to receive the attention it deserves, and our families and children will likely pay the price if something dosen't change. Maybe then we could get this nation to FOCUS on the catastrophic danger that faces the world provided madmen like these get a nuclear weapon. No one should expect Israel to stand idly by and let itself be obliterated, they will defend themselves and bring the United States along with them. But rather than devote major attention to the very real threat percolating in Iran, the major media is more worried about why it took 24 hrs to inform them about the Vice President's hunting mishap, or the latest celebrity breakup in Hollywood!! As a career Naval submarine officer, I worked up close and personal with nuclear missiles of several types. The idea of madmen like the president of Iran being willing to unleash that type of weapon against any country is bone chilling and breathtaking. This book will grab you by the lapel's and force you to consider the implications worldwide if an "Atomic Iran" comes to be.

I'll try my best to be objective - but, you know it's hard not to show your political stripes when reviewing this book. But why shoot us messengers? The fact that Dr. Corsi wrote a previous book that spiked John Kerry's Presidential bid - in no way nullifies the fact that Iran has - today - 3 to 5 nukes - and only hasn't used them because of the difficulty of mating them to their internally produced IRBMs. Name callers - finger pointers - discussion groups - can wail all day long - (conspiracy freaks even longer) - but IRAN HAS THE BOMB!!! "Atomic Iran" gives a shorthand version of how their nuclear program successfully progressed - who remains complicit in it's development (Putin & Co, the Russians and an unsavory cast of Europeans, American businessmen and bureaucrats) and speculates on who are Iran's intended targets (easy speculation). The book may very well indeed foster sympathy to Israel, go soft on big oil and the Bush family - but this is trivial because we are still faced with people who intend to murder us all because we do not submit to Allah as interpreted by the Iranian mullahs! Dr. Corsi plows through a religious, political, economic and emotional minefield - deliberately failing to avoid any of the mines. Apparently we either like explosions - or hate those who do. Graphic detail of hypothetical nuclear detonation incidents in Tel Aviv and NYC - might - just might - get some of us out from our TV sets and recreational diversions to reality. In 1981, Israeli Air Force (IAF) F-16's dropped 24 bombs on the nuclear reactor containment structure at Osirak, Iraq. 22 of the 24 bombs landed within the concrete reactor building - effectively destroying Saddam Hussein's bid for nuclear domination of the Middle East. Shortly after, Ronald Reagan stopped delivery of the next 75 F-16's Israel had on order (include Israel using US made cluster bombs on Palestinians in Lebanon for stopping this order) as the world (especially France who financed Iraq's nuclear program and lost a technician in the bombing) screamed in indignation. How fortunate we were that Israel was successful. Osirak was also dubbed "O'Chirac" after the then French foreign minister who headed France's participation in the project. Fast forward to today. Iran has learned to hide and disperse it's nuclear production facilities. A strike "out of the blue" such as Osirak could not be completely successful without a massive intelligence effort and guaranteed success of an Iranian government overthrow. Iran and Iraq were engaged in a deadly 10 year war (1980-89) where both sides used North Korean and Russian made SCUD rockets on each other's cities - with documented use of chemical agents by both sides. These folks are nasty critters who have used WMD on fellow believers. Do we infidels stand a chance of being spared? The UN and "Old Europe" continue to dither on a political solution that can never work without a valid military threat or a viable, effective Intelligence effort working at a popular political upheaval to give Iran consequences for non-compliance. The entire survival of the industrialized world depends on a successful outcome. To blame this crisis on a single American administration is nonsense. Iran's nuclear program has been in development since the fall of the Shah in the late 1970's. Every Presidential Administration - every Secretary of State since -- is complicit in Iran's current nuclear status! Corsi's fault is to largely narrow his wrath on Bill Clinton and Madeline Halfbright's non-efforts. But, who can forget Iran-Contra and Ollie North's birthday cake meant for Iranian "moderates". What were they thinking? Certainly there is enough lunacy to go around without resorting to the base art of partisan politics showing favor to any one side. One can only hope that Homeland Security, TSA, FBI, CIA, stays lucky on this one. I wondered the same thing about cockpit doors while viewing the Manhattan skyline with my family from the WTC in 1998... For goodness sake everyone -- drop the rhetoric - read the book - publish your own thoughts - speak out intelligently. This IS a problem that must be solved! HOW to solve it is not as easy as it seems. Corsi, with all his faults has produced a book to make us think - but perhaps pegged too many folks political fun meters in the process.

This review is from: Atomic Iran: How the Terrorist Regime Bought the Bomb and American Politicians (Hardcover)
I have told everyone I know to read this absolutely chilling but oh-so-important book and given copies to many friends. It carefully covers the history of Iran's program to arm itself with nuclear weapons and reports on assistance to Iran from Russia, North Korea, China, India, France, and others. Much much context on the West's response to Iran is covered here, showing consistent failure to engage Iran's leaders by pursuing the naive negotiating strategies promoted by candidate Kerry and other appeasement-minded American and European diplomats and politicians. Depressing though this account is, Dr. Corsi offers some small hope for potential regime change from within, and submits several good ideas for supporting the Mullahs' opponents. Readers should consult the following web sites for much-needed news on the pro-democracy anti-regime activists -- the only hope of the civilized world for avoiding global blackmail by the suicide-favoring leaders who now control the Iranian nuclear trigger: http://www.regimechangeiran.com/ and http://daneshjoo.org/

Reviewed by Richard R. Blake for Reader Views (3/07)
Jerome R. Corsi has written "Atomic Iran" in an effort to give the American people a wake-up call to the crisis facing our country. He presents a strong case, advocating that the Iranian mullahs are supporting terror internationally. And that these same mullahs are already at war against both Israel and America. Israel is in danger of nuclear retaliation from the Shiite Muslim's of Iran, under the presidency of Mahmouid Ahmadiejad. Corsi further warns that Americans have been lulled into a false security, influenced by the mainstream media. Behind the scenes the Iranian mullahs are influencing our politicians. Iran, a nation with a terrorist mindset, a nation rich in uranium resources, is on a collision course with America and the governments of Europe who are seeking to end the development of nuclear weapons. Differences among congressional leaders on diplomatic and economic issues make it difficult to take an unbiased and objective stance while reading Corsi's work, however, since the book was first published in 2005 in the hardcover edition, many of his predictions have taken place and even the most skeptical are taking another look at the message of "Atomic Iran." This is a book, urgent in its' disturbing message, well-documented, and timely. "Atomic Iran" should be read by every voting American. Corsi has presented a clarion call to the American people to become informed and to wake up to their responsibility as a citizen. Received book free of charge

Profoundly Troubling,
By
This review is from: Atomic Iran: How the Terrorist Regime Bought the Bomb and American Politicians (Hardcover)
I read Atomic Iran in one sitting. I found the book to be troubling from a couple of perspectives. First, that American politicians and civil service workers would work on Iran's behalf against the interest of our country. I thought American government workers should work for us. Secondly, that we have danced around the issue of Iran for so long....more than 20 years and continue to do so.
I don't want to start a spitting contest with other reviewers. I think when you review a book, your review should be about the worthiness of the book from your own perspective. To be branded racist because you think the book makes sense or doesn't make sense shouldn't be allowed by Amazon. Iran continues to be a thorn in the side of the United States, Europe, and other Middle Eastern countries. That Iran has a full blown nuclear program isn't questioned. What their ultimate purpose is is. I thought Atomic Iran was well written, interesting and certainly provocative. Americans should read the book with an open mind and ponder the possibilities and what they mean to this country. I certainly thought Atomic Iran was interesting. Isn't that one of the reasons we read such books?

All I have to say is JUST READ THIS VERY IMPORTANT BOOK and you will fully comprehend all that has been going on (repeatedly throughout history). Incredible information and resources.
I had forgotten some details back in the Reagan administration which should not (today) be forgotten, as well as the administration of Eisenhower who (mistakenly) removed the Iranian Prime Minister (1953) Mohammed Mossadegh who at the time was in agreement of installing democracy in his country. What a whirlwind of conflicts. And, we're heading right for what we all do not want to see -- World War 3.

MORDOR WITH NUKES,
By
This review is from: Atomic Iran: How the Terrorist Regime Bought the Bomb and American Politicians (Hardcover)
Since the publication of this book, events have moved very fast in the direction that Corsi predicted, confirming the warning expressed in Atomic Iran. The Iranian regime has openly defied the IAEA and is proceeding with its nuclear programme. In this it is assisted by Russia that supplies the materials and the expertise, and by China, which will veto any form of meaningful action to stop the process. The European multilateral approach has proved to be a monumental failure. One cannot negotiate with irrational fanatics led by a lunatic with messianic delusions. Appeasement has failed. There is no alternative now to the doctrine of preemption.
As the author points out in this essential work, not only Israel and the USA are in danger. All of Western civilization is in the sight of the maniacs ruling Iran. Already Ahmadinejad had shown his contempt for the EU. And indeed, Europe is particularly vulnerable as all its capital cities are within reach of the Shahab-5 missile. The next one, Shahab-6 that is currently being developed, is a true IBM with a range of possibly 6000 kilometers. Besides the direct threat, Iran will surely also make use of its proxy terrorists like Hamas and Hezbollah to attack Israel, the US and Europe. There is also a fifth column in the West and in America. The mullahs have been quite lavish in throwing money around to useful idiots and fellow travelers in the USA and elsewhere. There are plenty of corrupt people and institutions in the USA who have been bribed by a network of pro-Iranian financiers. Certain politicians have openly called for normalizing diplomatic relations and the legitimization of the regime. It is definitely time to expose and hold these lobbyists and interest groups accountable for their involvements with the mullahs. Corsi investigates the ayatollocracy by discussing their real ambitions, their support of various terrorist groups and their ultimate aims. The regime oppresses its own people and has only contempt for the concept of human rights. The author provides ample evidence of the cruelty and brutality rampant in Iran. This is what they have in store for the rest of the world, in case the feminists and other leftists haven't noticed. In addition, the regime manipulates the oil price, using the income to fund terrorism and pursue its nuclear ambitions. This price manipulation restricts growth, especially in emerging economies of the third world. Once it is nuclear, Iran will most definitely use the fact to more forcefully hold the world to ransom. An oil price of more than $100 per barrel is mentioned. Finally, the author examines the most likely scenarios and possible solutions to the looming threat. Conventional war is out of the question. The best way to proceed would be to encourage and support the Iranian people to get rid of their evil regime. In addition, Israel and/or the US will have to surgically strike sites like Arak (heavy water facility), Bushehr (Russian-built reactor) and Natanz (uranium enrichment facility). The MOAB will be indispensable in this campaign. As the author makes clear in the sections Why & How Israel Strikes First, Israel simply cannot allow a nuclear Iran. Since Corsi wrote this, Ahmadinejad has stated that he intends to "wipe Israel off the map" and in December 2005 he denied the holocaust on TV. In January 2006 Ali Larijani, secretary of the Iranian national security council, threatened Europe with the words " ... they will have to prepare themselves to live in a hell." More likely has hell found a host in his apocalyptic death cult. How much clearer can one get? One thing is certain, Israel will prevail. One can only hope that the Iranian people do not suffer too much in the approaching clash and that the world economy is not damaged too severely or for too long. As for the West, European and American Leftists in particular, it is time to wake up to the realities of the ayatollocracy.

I am an Iranian, and the Atomic Iran unfortunately is a true story.
I would encourage Dr. Jerome Corsi to write about the human rights violation or political prisoners in Iran that causes by the mad Mullahs. I am willing to provide you with substantial documents that you may need to start another book.

The Iranian nuclear threat is a real one,
By
This review is from: Atomic Iran: How the Terrorist Regime Bought the Bomb and American Politicians (Hardcover)
This book has two central theses, one related to the threat presented to the United States and to all of Mankind by the fundamentalist revolutionary Islamic terror - state, Iran. As these words are written and as the IAEA hum and haw, and as the world goes about its other business, Iran is persistently building its military and economic power. Later this spring Russia will launch Iranian satellites that will provide precise information on targets throughout the Middle East. The Russians have just signed an agreement to supply nuclear fuel to the Iranian plant at Bushehr which is expected to go online next year. There are reports of secret tunnel work being done by the Iranians to conceal nuclear activity near Esfahan. The list is long and the pattern is clear. Iran is working intensely to develop nuclear weapons, weapons which would wholly upset nuclear non- proliferation agreements , which would tremendously increase the possibility of a nuclear terror attack.
This present work does recognize the seriousness of this threat . It also covers new ground in tracing out the threat presented by Iran's domination of the world -oil- market. Here it is important to note that a nuclear Iran would be able to blackmail the world , and intimidate entirely its smaller Persian Gulf neighbors. As to second thesis, the controversial allegations in the book about American politicians involvement with Iran I have no knowledge of the subject and cannot comment. On the surface I do know that the United States has firmly opposed Iranian nuclear efforts, and has boycotted Iran in various ways for over two - decades. Iran's major achievements in weapons procuration and development have been aided by by China, Russia, and Pakistan's Khan ring. Also North Korea and its missile technology are important. One touches Iran and one reaches all those forces in the world which are opposed to the United States and the free world. This book is important in pointing out the dangers presented by the growing power of Iran. Unfortunately stopping Iran is not primarily a matter of American internal politics. The problems and enemies are without. How they will be addressed is one of the major challenges facing this Administration and most likely a number of Administrations to come. I would along with this book recommend another recently published book on Iran, Al J. Venter's ' Iran's Nuclear Option'. This book provides fascinating detail and incontrovertible proof as to the persistent efforts of Iran to in defiance of the world, build its own nuclear threat. In this context one must understand Iran as part of the hate- filled destructive coalition of the radical Islamic world that aims at the total destruction of Western civilization. Iran's having nuclear weapons is different from the United States,Great Britain, France, India, Israel, or even Russia's having nuclear weapons. For none of these countries aim to totally destroy the present order of civilization, and none have indicated the kind of aggressive intent that Radical Islamic world does display. |
