5.0 out of 5 stars fun & accurate August 31, 2011
By lm
Format:Paperback
This book turns concepts found in an introductory chemistry class into clever rhyming poems that explore the love lives of atoms and molecules. Chemistry in this form is anything but dry - Reading the book is a lot of fun! As both a PhD Chemist and a former high school teacher, I appreciate the accuracy of the chemical concepts conveyed and the accessible style used. This book would make a great gift for anyone who enjoys chemistry or a nice resource for a chemistry classroom.

5.0 out of 5 stars A lot of fun for the creative and chemically minded! December 15, 2011
By Moses
Format:Paperback
With the disclosure that I know Mala personally, I was incredibly impressed when I picked up Atomic Romances. Mala's poems have clear chemical intuition, across a lot of different kinds of chemistry, in a really fun set of what I'd describe as little stories set to verse. For anyone who's excited about chemistry (or knows someone who is) and has an artistic bent, it's really inspiring; I think it could become one of those critical books that gets people excited about pursuing chemistry. It also helped me to learn more about some areas of chemistry I didn't know much about, and I've had a great time sharing my favorite passages with colleagues.
