An invaluable resource,
By David Boyce (Scotland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Atopic Skin Disease: A Manual for Practitioners (Paperback)
For anyone wishing to gain a good understanding of the factors contributing to atopic skin disease and its management, this is a most useful resource. Early chapters examine the nature of atopic eczema and factors which contribute to it. The latest thinking on approaches to treatment are covered, and the latter part of the book details a 'habit reversal' approach pioneered with much success by the authors, which contributes to an effective and lasting treatment regime. Although the title mentions practitioners, the style and content are accessible by the lay reader. The tone is friendly and positive. This book contains a great wealth of useful information which will contribute enormously to the understanding of anyone with a serious interest in atopic eczema. I recommend it very strongly.

This review is from: Atopic Skin Disease: A Manual for Practitioners (Paperback)
This is an extremely useful resource for anyone seeking clear and up-to-date information about Atopic Eczema. Although the title mentions Practitioners, the style and content are accessible to the lay reader. Early chapters look concisely yet comprehensively at the factors contributing to atopic skin disease. This material provides much interesting background understanding. The latest thinking about the various treatment approaches is discussed, and the latter part of the book deals with a 'habit reversal' approach which the authors have pioneered and which works well to augment the efficacy of a treatment regime. The tone of the book is positive and friendly. For anyone wishing to look a little further into atopic eczema and its management this book is invaluable.
