I'm a mother of 4. when I had my first born, a friend of mine give me this book (in spanish) as a gift. That happened 19 years ago. It helped me to undestand a lot of things about my child caracter development an how to deal with it . It helped me to mature in my motherhood and with my other kids. Today that baby is a college student, secured, inteligent, lovely, and respectable person and in some way this book contributed in that process. I'm very thankful to my friend for this gift that still helping me with my baby boy who is 10 years old now..

I found this book impowering to read but impossible to apply. Dobson's discipline focuses on spanking and other pain related techniques and is very forceful about defending these methods. When I tried his theories, however, with my child screaming "no no don't hit me" ... I really and truly feel there must be a better way. To give Dobson some credit, he does talk a little about rule setting, listening to your child, and creative discipline ideas (some that he learned from his Mom). He also relates that traditional discipline methods should seldom be used after age 6. Perhaps I am too tender hearted, but his overall methodology did not work for me.

Esta muy bueno este libro, me ha servido mucho para saber como disiplinar si caer en excesos y sin temor a hacerlo

Un buen libro con principios basicos de disciplina. Todas las familias deberia tenerlo si no quieren criar hijos rebeldes y malcriados.

This book is just a manual on how to make your kid misirable by spanking him and pain. The father is bigger, then he has to use his force to correct the kid. I think parents are smarter too, so they can use the intelligence to make their childs change.

The teaching is excellent. Every parent should read the book... and apply it.
