Queen of Rock,
By A Customer
This review is from: Atras Do Porto Tem Uma... (Audio CD)
"Atrás do Porto tem uma Cidade" is Rita's 3rd album but in many senses you could say it's her first. In 1973, Rita gets appart from her group Mutantes. This period marks the begining of a journey, when Rita began to search for her own style. One year later she found it... along with her new group, Tutti-Futti, she released "Atrás do Porto..." This album marks the borning of a star. From that year on, Rock 'n' Roll started to have not only kings but also one Queen. Rita's the queen of Rock, not only in Brazil but also in the world. Bendita Santa Rita de Sampa!!!!!

A Star Is Born,

This review is from: Atras Do Porto Tem Uma... (Audio CD)
When Rita was demanded to leave the band "Os Mutantes", by his boyfriend and partner, Arnaldo Baptista, she has commented, years later, she felt afraid it was time to give up of her career. Nevertheless, she got moving forward. And the result of her strong spirit is this splendid CD (1974), where she finally found her own sound. Nowadays, songs as "Mamae Natureza", "Ando Meio Jururu", "Yo No Creo Pero...", "Tratos a Bola" and the balad "Menino Bonito" are the classics that are, as well, witness of her talent and perseverance. And Baptista would receive an answer, made as a song ("Agora So Falta Voce"), brilliantly written by Rita in her next album - the best one, even when comparing it among those with Mutantes("Fruto Proibido").
Genius Stuff.
