Also, you will save some money compared to other high end monitors.

You could argue that the Sennheiser IE8, the Westone W3, and the Shure 530 are the best available.

The sound signature is very warm and natural, and the bass is very good and not overpowering.

The Future Sonics Atrios line of earphone monitors have undergone a revision, moving from the MG5 to the new MG7 dynamic drivers, improving the build quality and changing to new eco-friendly packaging.

I've had a chance to hear these for two weeks now. I'm happy to give a complete overview so you can decide whether Atrios are right for you.

The packaging: Future Sonics has moved to using much more eco-friendly materials. They have a new case for the earphones which is made from recycled tire rubber (and looks great). They've done a good job and I hope other companies follow their lead.

On to appearance. It's easy to judge a picture, but often what looks good on a computer screen looks horrible sticking out of your ears. In the ears, the Atrios look good--not too attention grabbing, but their curved design adds a touch of style. They come in several colors, the red is most eye-catching, if you want that.

Fit: Atrios are made from a high-strength, low weight plastic. They are light and easily stay in the ear, even seeming to disappear. There are small, medium and large bi-flange silicon eartips and two sizes of foam tips as well. Getting a good seal is essential to getting good sound. Future Sonics gives a reasonable selection of eartips, but some other companies give more and better eartip options.
One nice thing about the Atrios' design is that they can easily be worn cable down, or over-the-ear.

Cable: On earphones, the cable is the most-likely part to fail. How do the Atrios do? Pretty well, I'd say. The cable has a sturdy right-angle plug with good strain-relief and good integrated strain relief at the housing of the earphone. The cable itself is light.

I've been using these for about 9 months now and they still amaze me every time I put them in. The sound signature is very warm and natural, and the bass is very good and not overpowering. For those that don't know, FutureSonics has been an industry leader in Concert/live performance IEM's for years and now they have an amazing pair of consumer IEM's out that can't be beat for the price. They aren't the prettiest things to look at but who cares, the only complaint I have is that I wish they came with a nicer/better carrying case, and the dual-flange tips are hard to get sealed well. I recommend getting some Comply foam tips which seal and isolate well and are very comfortable, not to mention they sound great.

I owned Shure E2Cs for 4 years before these bad-boys (the Shures' cable started cracking), and I just retried my Shures after a year without them. Holy $%!@ the Atrio's are amazing!! I like hip-hop music, so these are THE BEST you can find for the genre, unless maybe you splurge for the Senn IE8. The bass is deep, powerful, but definitely doesn't muddy the mids and highs. I play saxophone, so I listen to jazz every now and then, and these are still great. But, for hip-hop, r&b, rap, techno, electronic, etc., these are straight from heaven!

I found these for half price a year ago on a shady website, so I decided to go for it after hearing amazing reviews on Head-fi.com. I can say with absolute certainty that I would buy these for full price right now if I lost mine.

The real reason I like these is that they are easy on my ears. I like a little thump at the low end, and I don't need to turn my volume up at all to get this. I went back to the E2Cs (admittedly, older, cheaper, etc.) and the bass VANISHED. I also own Grado sr80i, which are awesome for 100 bucks, but the bass in the Atrios kills all. I am looking into getting an E7 amp for my Grados, but then when I sit and listen to my Atrios, I think, "Why bother? These are AMAZING."

Just man-up and buy these bada$$ earphones. You'll thank yourself (after ~50 hours of burn-in!)!!

Much has already been said about these so I will make this review brief. For the longest time I was loathe to spend more than 50 bucks on IEMs out of fear of losing or breaking them. Further, I could never really hear a difference between 50 dollar IEMs and Apple earbuds, so I figured spending even more would be futile. However, as a music lover the possibility that there were great sounding IEMs out there always nagged me. After much research and consideration I decided that these IEMs, the Atrio Future Sonic with MG7 Pro technology blah blah etc, were the best value for the price. There were other worthy contenders, but all featured an over-the-ear cable design, and I much prefer the straight down cable design. And so the Atrio's sat on my wish list for a solid year till I finally decided to make the plunge. In short, my only regret was that I didn't buy them sooner. While they don't come close to sounding as good as a decent pair of circumaural headphones, they are a marked improvement over 50 dollar earbuds for portable use. Verdict: worth it!

Update 12/14/12:

Besides the sound quality, I'm thoroughly impressed with the isolation these IEMs offer. I wore these to the movies and was able to listen at a comfortable volume even during the previews. I couldn't hear anything but my music. I can imagine this level of isolation being dangerous. Be aware of your surroundings!

Update 12/16/12:

Future Sonics customer service is superb!
