A brilliant insight into Gris's inner mind, I loved seeing the raw images unlike his other books where they are crisp and finished. It was something completely different, a little darker yet just as beautiful.

Although I enjoy pondering the thought process behind an artist's work, I'm not sure what inspired some of these figures. Random sketches, most done in crude, angry strokes alongside meaningless phrases on many pages...no line of progress or development of the artist here. Many of the sketches include exaggerated body parts, not particularly sexual, but way 'out there.'
I don't doubt the immense talent of this artist, but some things should remain 'hidden.' I can't have this in my house, nor would I pass it on to anyone else. I own several books of his art and love his work, but this one is wrong on so many levels.
