4.0 out of 5 stars attachment as an adult phenomenon, June 18, 2006
By W Boudville (Terra, Sol 3) - See all my reviews
(TOP 10 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
Sable gives an erudite exposition of attachment theory, showing how it has developed over 20 years. She goes into how such problems as separation anxiety and agoraphobia in adults can be better understood in terms of attachment behaviour.

One key idea in the book is how attachment theory is no longer confined to the context of children. The text summarises many studies that point to this conclusion.

On a lighter note, she describes how the propensity of many adults to have a pet, usually a cat or dog, can also be understood using attachments.
