Mikulincer and Shaver, two of the most prolific researchers in adult attachment, provide a thorough review of the research in this book. As a grad student (and fledgling attachment researcher), this book has been indispensable. The authors are especially adept at noting discrepancies in the literature. They also detail support for competing hypotheses. I would recommend this book for anyone interested in personal relationships or personality research. Two years after buying it, I have read it cover to cover, and I still refer to it on a regular basis.

Great book, it explains how the adult attachment develops and the impact of attachment styles on future adult relationships. I have read some articles of Dr. Shaver about adult attachment and now with Dr. Mikulincer, they give a broader explanation of this phenomenon. I truly recommend this book to those who are interested in this subject.

Great book reviewing all studies. This is not a book for someone who is looking for easy reading about the subject.

I would recommand this book for any one who want to understand attachment theory!
I enjoy reading their work.
