Attack! Attack! Go!,
By Jeremy C. Garland (Louisiana, U.S.) - See all my reviews

Beau Sia is an amazing poet and performer. Sometimes at night when I'm lighting the candles around my Beau Sia shrine and mispronouncing his name (like Die-a), I think to myself that maybe someday I'll get around to fixing that toilet. You have to jiggle the handle everytime after you flush. Buy Attack! Attack! Go! now!

GENIUS!,

This review is from: Attack! Attack! Go! (Audio CD)
For those of you who find his material offensive and vulgar, you just need to get out of the BOX. But your opinion is your opinion. Many great geniuses are often misunderstood. Also, he grows on you. I have some friends who at first thought Beau was a sick perv but finally realized his greatness. I love Beau, I have the cd and the book. He's so hilarious yet he has his times when he is more thoughtful and serious (the last track). My favorite tracks on this cd are Money, Love, the Gym, and Howl. Buy this CD! Buy the book! Hmmm.... Beau Sia has a Chinese last name, Beau Sia looks Chinese, Beau Sia talks about being Chinese....could that be because he IS Chinese and not korean? you know, cuz many korean people have korean last names and they also tend to look korean. BEAU SIA FOREVER!

I will always hold on to this album,

There was another version of this album done with reworked beats, but I always liked this version best. I had a college radio show and "Money" or "Love" usually got callers right away asking about it. Sia's energy and delivery are funny and intense. If you're a fan of his performances, you'd probably enjoy this as well.

Beau Sia is an experience!,

I'm not sure why there are as many negative reviews as there are. This may not be Beau's best renditions of his poems, but he is without a doubt a poetic force, who not only writes vividly, but his delivery and performance enhances his message like no other. He is full of energy and pathos. His live performances are intense. Beau will take you on a ride you will enjoy. Again these are perhaps not the best renditions of Beau Sia's works... but thats only because Beau is meant to be experienced live and in person.

...cause now I can't buy it for people and impress them by saying "I know this guy!" Oh, well.... you may still be able to get this CD and his second one, "Dope and Wack," at his website: www.beausia.com. You may be able to get his book there too. Good luck! :) -mjl from okc

i can see how some people would find this annoying, but i see a lot of myself in it. i suppose it depends on how you grew up and how you look at life and all the smaller things inside it, but for those who enjoy seeing souls stripped naked, then i'd recommend this cd.

Every track is absolutely amazing. I died though the first 12 tracks due to laughter. The last track brought me close to tears. I just sat on the floor of my room looking at a picture of the blues brothers thinking of mortality. I am planning on getting the book. Read some of it. The best tracks on the cd were the 2nd track and track 10. Hilarious. It is good. MMMMM

Mc poetry my mcnugget,

Yes Beau Sia is a poet, yes he is damn good at what he does and yes this is an attempt to bring poetry into the mainstream, and whats wrong with that. Everybody could use a little honest art now and then. That often means making it funny, god forbid. If you don't like it go read the Bitter Oleander and forget to take your medication. Long ago poetry was invented as a way to help remember important stories and cultural myths. To stick it in the heads of the masses using rhyme and meter. Poetry is supposed to appeal to a wide base, and it is sad that the small press is what it is restricted to now. I must say Beau going off live is much better than this cd for sure, but either way you must see in the stand up comedy stylings, the art.

Horsecock!,

Beau IS a genius! I listen to this CD every day in my car, and all the cops I pass let me speed as fast as I want, drive drunk, do donuts and peel out at elementary schools and whatever else I want. My girlfriend says she wants to Beau to bang her so hard that he splits her in two, and I say, "Hey, I got no problem with that." The best track is the one about Beau's dick, and I'm disappointed that IT'S not on the front cover. That's my only complaint, I guess. That, and I wish I was Chinese.

For spoken word cats, but almost no one else,
By
This review is from: Attack! Attack! Go! (Audio CD)
If you're into spoken word/performance poetry, then you may glean things from this CD that are entertaining, (but probably not enough to make it worth buying, unless you're a hardcore poet-head...even then you may still be disappointed), but this work simply canNOT be recommended for people who thought they were buying a musical CD or the "Slam" movie soundtrack. This will bring no great number of people to poetry, and could even serve to push some away. Sorry, but for hardcore poet vets only, particularly fans of Beat generation work.
