Editorial Reviews

Flash-back to the late 1950's when rock music was becoming the single most infectious phenomenon the world had ever seen. The people at the forefront of this era were the ones who had something inherently special and unique to bring to music. Flash forward to the present and the same is still true, but rock music is now an aggressive match of 'king of the hill', where the only ones standing out are the ones who have the capacity to re-invent rock. Attack Attack! is that band. On their sophomore effort, Attack Attack! continue their furious path upwards to the top of the hill, blending the most extreme elements of metal and pop to conjure up what can only be categorized as a new genre all together. Having sold an impressive 75,000+ albums in the States, Attack Attack! stand as the kings of this ground-breaking new age of music, establishing a legacy that will soon spread around the world.

Customer Reviews

Attack Attack's first album didn't really wow me, nor did I expect it to.
Kit Kitsch
The songs just seem too familiar, as if they just tried to play it safe (within the Post-Hardcore/Screamo genre) and not really bring anything inspiring to the table.
Cody Fuqua
I would not recommend this to strict metal fans; you will not like it, but if you are open-minded and have some pop on your ipod, you could love it.
Andrew B. Reichard

If you've yet to hear any of this band's music, you should be warned that it is as eclectic as it gets and wonderfully unpredictable. The two largest running musical themes with this album are metal and techno-pop. And they switch effortlessly between the two. If you can fully appreciate the many genres of music you'll find here, then you're going to be addicted to this cd the way I am. And I can understand how people could easily not get what makes this album an amazing experience. But if you're open to music that goes anywhere then you will love this album. There's not a track here that I skip over while listening. Preview some of it. And if you like what you hear, do not hesitate purchasing. The musicianship is top notch.

After I seen the "Smokahontas" video on MTV2 I was immediately intrigued with this band. Call me a sheep, a lame brained sell-out, whatever. There are some sick metal riffs on this CD, combined with rave-pop style dance beats. Also, the vocals are very good and you can understand the lyrics. You get more growl than screamo and the singers can sing some fine harmony also.

Sometimes when it seems that all the metal you hear sounds the same, it's nice to give something different a listen. Even if you hate dance club music, as I do, you may like this CD. Not to mention "Smokahotas" again, but the intro and outro riffs in that song are uber-heavy and sound awesome when played loud through your car stereo.

There are some songs I don't care for, like "Fumbles O'Brian". The beginning is very annoying! To make up for it, there is "AC-130", a song I would put up against anything headbanging. Just like any other CD I own... some songs I love, like, think are O.K., and/or hate!

To all the "real hardcore metal heads" out there, feel free to rip on me and tell me how lame I am. Take care everyone and godspeed...

this is actually one of my favorite bands but the seller is terrible!! i got the cd and the case was dirty and cracked all over, the cd its self was dirty and the booklet thing on the inside was ripped! its a good band, if you like metal core with an electronic twist, just all around fun to listen to. This only gets two stars from me because the seller is crap.

I was a fan of Attack Attack's live set when I saw them last summer. I listened and liked their debut full length, Someday Came Suddenly. It wasn't flawless, but it had some moments that I liked. I know the whole history of the band and I know that they had a line-up change. Well, Austin left, then they had a replacement, but he left and now the keyboardist just uses loops and he took over vocal duties (if my memory serves me right) and that is the line-up on this CD.

I knew going into it that it would have a different sound and I'm fine with that. One of my favorite bands, Dance Gavin Dance, did this and I still like all of their stuff even though each CD is different. This CD starts out with promise but fizzles out very quickly. The drummer is amazing, but I feel that he is wasting his talent with this band. The songs just seem too familiar, as if they just tried to play it safe (within the Post-Hardcore/Screamo genre) and not really bring anything inspiring to the table. This CD just nails the final piece into their coffin and they will most likely blend in and fade away into the mess that is screamo/ post-hardcore. Attack Attack and iseestars seem like two bands that are trying way too hard to do too many things and it comes off foolish. I understand that mixing genres is the deal, but when its execution is elementary at best, its hard to even try to like it. Mixing their synth/rap/disco makes them revert back to the crappy 'nu-metal' days in the late 90s/early 00's. I'm sorry if I am rambling, but this CD is just as interesting as this post. It is a shame because they have a couple of good songs on this CD, but I can't tell if they are lucky or showing promise... My money is on they got lucky because the remaining songs range from abysmal to meh. I firmly stand behind the 2 star rating.

ill skip the whole drawn out thing because its been mentioned before, if you know about someday came suddenly then you most likely know that this is not the same overall group of people ... the effort is still there from the remaining members but honestly ... they should have changed the name ... this isnt a style change or evolution from someday came suddenly ... its a completely different band trying to make a semblance to their former selves match what they could have made if carlisle wasnt such a nutcase and kept burning through bands like paris hilton through friends and dogs ...

it just doenst work ... please listen to it before you decide to purchase it ... somehow ... myspace, youtube, whatever just dont rush out and buy it like i did without forewarning

Ok, to start of someday came suddenly, although not the most technical album ever, was a very fun one. Now a couple years later we get an album by a band that really shouldve changed they're name. I was so dissapointed by this release, although much more heavy than the previous one it lacks even more substance (if even possible) than scs. Now on to the the almost complete lack of techno or anything of the sort and the bits of techno seem very forced and and just kinda akward so in short just dont by this cd, its pretty terrible.
