This review is from: Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder at Home and at School (Paperback)
When I first opened Attention, I was pleased not to have to go through pages of gobbledygook to get to the information I needed. Attention promotes teacher parent cooperation to assist ADHD students in learning. The book offers easy to understand stategies and techniques in behavior modification for both teacher and parent, suggests helpful ways to deal with learning disabilities in a variety of classroom subjects and suggests parenting skills to make the home environment less stressful. Medication is discussed and is used as a tool to attain success. The premise is that neither behavior modification or medication will work in isolation. It is a middle of the road approach.
Student examples are somewhat hard to read but the differences before help and after help are obvious. ADHD check lists to identify the hyperactivity disorder are clear and not ambiguous. The sample school letter on page 154 is excellent.
Thank you for this helpful book.
