When I came across this book on your site, I decided to order it. It sounded like it could give me some further insight into career dressing. The title "Attention to Detail" made me think that while I had the basics of career dressing down, I might be missing some important DETAILS. (I have been in the business world for about 8 years now, and am always interested in improving myself.) I was pretty disappointed by this book. While it could be helpful for a high school senior, or possibly even a college senior, most of the information was common sense, or redundant from other sources. My trusty copy of "Color Me Beautiful", which I think was a gift from my aunt on my 13th birthday, provides MUCH more thorough and comprehensive information than this book. The authors don't even follow their own advice - they recommend black, navy, charcoal & taupe for suit colors, but the female author is photographed on the back wearing a lavender suit. I think $12.95 for this book is too expensive - they didn't even have photographs, just drawings. They also didn't discuss a subject which (I think) should be in this sort of book - makeup! It's common knowledge that a completely professional appearance can be undermined by heavy or trendy makeup, but it was never even mentioned, although nails were. To sum up, this book is really too basic for anyone who has actually ever had a job in the business world. It's an okay (though incomplete) starter book.

If You're a Woman in Business You Need this Book, March 10, 2000

It's about time! We women think we have it all wrapped up when it comes to fashion, but what's up with all the "fashion don'ts" you see in every office? I loved this book, it gave me so many great tips and advice. Let's face it, women in business are still a relatively new phenomenon. This guide helps you learn how the rules of the game are played. It's not just the right brief case, it's also the right way to act in a meeting, how to shake hands with a new colleague (so many women do that awful "dead fish" thing). I'm glad I'm "in the know" now and I've recommended Greenleaf's guide to other women friends-- they'll have to buy their own copy though, I won't lend this one out.

Basics for beginners only!, March 6, 2005

Luckily, I checked this out from the library rather than purchasing it. This very thin, very basic booklet is more like somthing I would expect to get free as a promotional item, not something I would pay $12.95 for.
If you've ever been in the workforce, or your mother taught you anything about how to dress and act, you don't need this book.
