4.0 out of 5 stars A students's review of Attila the Hun, February 16, 2012
This review is from: Attila the Hun (Ancient World Leaders) (Hardcover)
I enjoyed the book, Attila the Hun, because the writer described Attila's upbringing in Honorius's court in Ravenna and battles in which he was the commander in a way that intrigued me from the beginning to the end. I liked the author's use of vocabulary such as "emissaries, prowess, and contingent." The writer often includes maps showing where everything was taking place in Attila's story. The author also put in a timeline in the back of the book that included important events. Something I didn't like about this book is that the author wrote more about the military campaigns of Attila the Hun than anything else. I would have liked to read more about his family and the society that surrounded him. But, overall this book is a great resource for students.
