In her typical topical and thorough way, Martha Peace takes
the reader on a exploration journey, where the Word of God is
clearly the force that drives. She thoroughly gets to the heart
of things, the heart of a woman and the many ways it deceives us.
The deceptions take us away from getting to understand what the
Lord expects and wants from us and for us, including the subtle
ways in which the world has seeped into our thoughts. Definitely
a must read, for your quiet time or bible study.

It amazes me that this book seems to receive the least attention of all Martha Peace's books (at least as far as customer reviews go). I never really liked some of Peace's views in her books on women's roles, or how conservatives seemed to throw those books at women. However, knowing she was a good writer and hoping to hear more of her views on Christianity as a whole, I eventually came across this book and was more than satisifed.

In this beautiful volume, Peace, accompanied with lots of Scripture, describes the many different facets of a Christian heart and how different it is from a worldly view. Each chapter is dedicated to either explaining a certain attribute of the Christian heart or examining the faults of a societal theory that harms spiritual thinking. Various study questions and beautiful Scripture passages are included throughout the book.

This book is challenging, thorough, insightful, and wonderful encouragement for growth in Christ! I recommend it to everyone and am so glad I found it among the hubbub and fuss of the "ladies" books. Enjoy, sisters and brothers!

This book launched me into thinking properly about God, which has transformed all of my thoughts, actions and motives. Highly recommended!

This is an excellent, Biblically sound and well written guide to what a "transformed heart" really looks like, how it is lived out and what is the Source for continued growth for the serious Christian. Who is the "Transformer" and how does he transform a life? If I am truly transformed how do I differ from others who are not OR from the "pre-transformed" self I once was. Martha Peace is an outstanding author and teacher. Her theology is sound, her works are very readable and this book exemplifies that. It is useful for personal or group study.

The author starts with a strong theological foundation about God Most High and His Word as the source of truth. Then she moves into very practical, encouraging, convicting material about having a heart that pleases God. I highly recommend this book.

LOVE this book. Puts everything in perspective regarding our relationship with God. The book goes into detail about High God vs High man and our attitudes/actions toward both. Excellent book to do in a study group. I purchased this to give to a new friend who had been in church all her life but still didn't really know about God/Jesus. Good book to see if there are changes in your life due to your relationship with God.
