Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

It seems strange that in a book about remote library users, many of whom are going to be students, the words faculty, teacher(s), and instructor(s) do not appear in the index. The text is written almost exclusively as if the librarian is the central figure in enticing remote users to select and use the library services. There is mention of connecting with instructors in the table of contents but little discussion of their paramount role in requiring that library resources be used for assignments. However, there is much useful introductory information for the student or novice librarian on the competition libraries feel from the World Wide Web and on ways to build, maintain, and market a library Web presence and to instruct, assist, and support users of the library site and the databases available only through it.
