Law of Attraction "Junky" Likes This,
By Green Interior Designer (New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Attractor Factor: 5 Easy Steps for Creating Wealth (or Anything Else) From the Inside Out (Paperback)
Many of you who read The Attractor Factor: 5 Easy Steps for Creating wealth (or Anything Else) From the Inside Out by Joe Vitale will have already read other books about the law of attraction. So why read this? Motivation. The Attractor Factor, in addition to providing very doable 5 steps, provides tons of stories and anecdotes about other people's success in getting what they want. This is quite motivating and encouraging. As the title of my review suggests, The Attractor Factor isn't the first book on the law of attraction that I have read. I have actually been quite successful with the law of attraction and have read several other good books on the subject. Most recently, I read several wonderful books: MONEY AND THE LAW OF ATTRACTION, HARMONIC WEALTH and a book that gives a slightly different spin by adding the power of the home to attract your desires, the award winning HARMONIOUS ENVIRONMENT: BEAUTIFY, DETOXIFY & ENERGIZE YOUR LIFE, YOUR HOME & YOUR PLANET. I read The Attractor Factor for the motivational stories and I wasn't disappointed. By profession, I am an interior designer and often need to motivate clients to change their ways to help them instigate change in their lives. In addition to my own clients' success stories, I will reach for stories from books like Vitale's. Because sometimes we need more than instructions--we need to know how someone else succeeded to encourage us that anything is possible.

I don't care if his degree is in dogcatching. Do his ideas work? They do- if you work from your heart. If you work from your head, as some reviewers appear to be, you won't get any results. Joe doesn't really tell you that when you put out an intent- if it doesn't work- this is merely feedback to help you identify negative beliefs, and then to clear them. For people as negative as some reviewers, this could take a little while. Another thing Joe could emphasize more is that if your intent is service to others, rather than merely to ego, you will get far better results, degrees of magnitude better. I help a friend, who helps homeless people. He told me he needed some shoes, Size 8, for a homeless man. 2 days later I had a pair, for free. I go to a community dinner, midweek, and take the leftover food to a soup kitchen next to the building I work in. I invariably get at least a duffel bag full, and drop it off. Every week. They are delighted. Yes, you can sum up War and Peace in a playing card. But you miss a lot. The whole point is the anecdotes, which drive home the points. I love the books of Wallace D. Wattles, but the English used is a little archaic, for the average person. Matthew Ferry's 8 part series on Manifesting, on YouTube, can also be summoned up on a page, but it is so very entertaining, I watch it from time to time. I read Think and Grow Rich a long time ago. I learned from it. Yes, this book merely restates, however so do the other books. Neville Goddard and Joseph Murphy are so much fun, for me- but they can be a little thick for some readers nowadays. I am personally amazed at all the negativity in some reviewers; this is not something to put out. If you don't like the book, move on. I like it, and I ordered copies for my brother, as he isn't into books that require some effort to understand. He's very smart, but kinesthetically. This book is simply written. Shakti Gawain's books are essentially her version of Jose Silva's Silva Method. Both are good. Everybody rewrites. The problem in manifesting, in setting intent, is that the larger goals have more subconscious resistance, which has to be cleared. Most people want it all, right now, aren't willing to work on it, and blame whatever method they're using. My wife's mother manifests brilliantly with nothing more than a quick request of St. Anthony. Most of the commenters don't seem to have found anything else that worked well for them. I know someone in a crummy job, she begged me for help, 2 weeks ago. That's not my job, but she was sincere, and working hard, so I set an intent to find something. I did find something for her, and connected her with those people. She hasn't yet gotten the job, but she's very close. She is extremely appreciative for even the little bit I did. You don't need a lot of material support. Mother Theresa manifested an awful lot, owning just 2 pairs of clothes, and I think a pair of sandals. When I am in a pure state, the manifesting is truly effortless. Google the story of Jumping Mouse, if you want to understand how the manifesting journey works. A woman at work had a baby. I found a car seat, for free, and gave it to her. I really wanted some rubber stamps, of a certain type, and a great number of them showed up at my favorite clearance store, cheap. I set an intent, and without attachment, watch as the path opens up. Say what you will, Joe is laughing all the way to the bank, and yes there is value to his books, for those open to it. For those not open to it, I guess they write negative reviews on Amazon, and otherwise stew in their own juices. May Allah grant you patience, as you will need the patience of an Easterner. You remind me of the story of the student, who begged the guru for the mantra that would release him from all suffering. The guru said, "Ram" [which is a very common Indian name]. The man was furious- his mantra couldn't be that simple. He left in a huff, and found another guru. The other guru had him shovel out stables, and clean out toilets, for several years. After some years, the student went to the teacher, recounted his dedicated service, and asked for his mantra. The new teacher said, "Ram". The student was shocked, and said, "But my last master told me that!" The new master said "well, yes. Of course, you weren't ready to hear it then. How many more toilets do you need to clean, before you are ready to receive?" My brother is good at this, better than I am, for many things. He got a $9000 home entertainment system for $300, by accident, as one example among many. If you need to play, try Matrix Energetics: The Science and Art of Transformation. Walt Woods' Letter to Robin: A mini-course in pendulum dowsing is a pretty good introduction to learning how to communicate with the subconscious mind, which holds all the limiting beliefs. I also like The Future Is Yours: Do Something About It! and ThetaHealing, and even Lost Secrets of Ancient Hawaiian Huna, Volume 1 and Urban Shaman, and I have gotten results from all of them. And I get results from Joe's book. Thanks, Joe.

In short: The Attractor Factor works!,

I'll be frank. Using the Attractor Factor process, I haven't got everything I wanted exactly when I demanded it. But I have succeeded attracting what I wanted or something better far too often for it to be coincidence. Using the process, I met a guy at a social event and later went on my first date in four years.

This book only rates 5 stars on my crap-o-meter. I've been reading self-help type books for 40 years and have gotten pretty good at being able to filter out new-age garbage and still get the good out of the information. The first half of this book wasn't too bad. Then it took an ugly turn down a long tunnel into a cesspool of crap. Vitale, known for his hype and self-promotion actually gives some fairly decent examples for the book's topic, but you have to wade through so much else to get it. When I got to the story about the Titanic possibly being scripted by a book written 14 years prior to the tragedy, I had to toss Attractor Factor and give up on the filtering process. See, the book about the Titanic to which he was referring was published in 1955, over 40 years AFTER the Titanic. The author of it wasn't even born until 5 years after Titanic sank.Dang, Joe, do your research! There are so many other books which present the same information more accurately, more logically, more easily understood and without the crap that there's not room to list them all. I've avoided this author for quite a while because of my suspicions of his writings. My suspicions have been confirmed. Two stars instead of one only because of a few tidbits in the early part of the book.

I've read Spiritual marketing. I also read the first version of The Attractor Factor - but I'd borrowed it from the library. So, since the first two versions "worked" at least enough for me to feel flush enough to purchase this version I figured, it would be good to have in my library. There is not much new in this version, I'm not a fan of the quiz in the beginning telling me where to start but I did like the addition of space to write in the book -- in essence - forcing me to complete the exercises. This time around I think I really grasped more of the message that Vitale is trying to pass on and feel more at peace with my own complicity in my life's situations. My life is fine, but sure, I'm expecting more prosperity, but I'm not desperate for it like I have been in the past. I think that is the essence of the book. Reading it alone won't get you there, it's a mindset. I can also clearly see the hypnotic writing which Vitale is famous for at play in the book. I see why people would buy his book/s and run out to buy the next, sign up for his trainings or his coaching programs --it's woven into every nook and cranny of the book. Is that a bad thing? No! I don't think it's covert, I think it's right out in the open. The bottom line is -- if you're ready to do the WORK, take ACTION and make steps toward your perfect life - this book is full of practical ways to do that, with some good points to ponder as well. If, on the other hand you're looking for a quick fix or a guarantee change in your life after reading it -- get real. Fix yourself and your thinking, and the approach the book with a beginner's mind and do the exercises. It will help! Peggie Arvidson [...]

I have read many books on "the law of attraction"; however, Joe's book reads in simple language. Reading simple language vs. reading big flowery words frees the mind to absorb the message instead of thinking about the meaning of a big, unnecessary word. I found it an easy read that you can read quickly so that you can re-read over. After all, the mother of learning is repetition. Joe has the ability to relay the message to someone who has not spent years studying metaphysics. Good starter book for learning the meaning behind the "law of attraction"; which we all do whether we are conscious of it or not. I suggest reading through once and then on the second read participate in the book's written exercises. Worth the money!
