It clamps on the Jon boat seats great and is easy to swivel around.

Anyway, the seats were easy to install on to the swivel and once it was screwed tight on the bench seat it's very secure.

Fast ship, great sturdy product, works great on holding the seats on small boats and easy to install.

These are surprisingly nice swivel seat mounts. They are well built and seem very sturdy. They bolted right up to the seats I also bought from Amazon (which are really nice as well). A few very small things that cost these one star: First, I agree with the comments that the wing nuts are NOT easy to get to and, like the others, will make a small tool (as described in the other comments) to tighten them. Secondly, I found it a little difficult to get the screws into the seat in that you almost need to use an offset phillips screw driver to tighten them well. Otherwise, I'm quite pleased. I'll update this when I receive my boat next Monday and can evaluate how well they work in the boat.

UPDATE: We've had a chance to actually USE these things. I did make a tool to tighten them. They do NOT hold as well as they appear they would, even tightened as much as possible. We needed to be CONSTANTLY aware that these were not PERMANENT seat mounts as they would slip us easily and throw us off balance a bit. It's a GREAT idea, but needs some work to perfect it. As a result, I'm lowering my rating from 4 stars to 3 stars.

FURTHER UPDATE: These are a good idea, they just don't hold on the boat seats on which I have them mounted. They simply don't tighten down enough not to slide up and off. Just FYI, I have them mounted in a plastic jon boat. Maybe I can come up with a way to really lock them down. If I do, I'll update this post.

this item works fine, but I had to make my own tool for tightening the wing nuts. difficult to reach the nuts with your hand.

Very easy to install into my jon boat. The base of the seat mount easily matched the mounting holes on the seat's bottom. Quality item, built to last many seasons.

I bought a set from a local store and they had a plastic base. The plastic ones flex too much and will almost throw you out of the boat when it gets rough. these are much better

I like the quality and well made construction. I do not like the design because the seat can come up and tilt backwards causing an accidental injury. I almost fell in the water backwards. I would suggest a design change that would put an optional strap or cable that would go under the boat structure at the floor and be able to tighten it. This would keep the seat from popping up and tilting backward with pressure from the occupant. Another fix would be to have clamps that would screw through the aluminum seat to hold it down. One clamp front and one rear over the bottom rods. If this is done ,please notify me so I can buy what you have to eliminate this problem.

Bought a couple of these for a 14ft Lund with bench seats after comparing reviews of similar products. This product is very well made but it would be really nice if there was an easy way to screw it on tight without having to build a contraption. I used a sawzall to cut the end off and notch out an old aluminum broom handle since I didn't have any 1/2 inch PVC as others have suggested. Anyway, the seats were easy to install on to the swivel and once it was screwed tight on the bench seat it's very secure.

As long as you do not think of this as a way to permanently mount a seat to your boat, its pretty good. I have this mounted to a plastic 12ft jonboat and it works good enough for my purposes, but I need to be careful not to lean back in the seat because it will come off. Tightening this thing is a real pain in the ass even when using pliers or channel locks. The way that works best for me is to just tighten the wingnuts with the mount off of the boat and then slide it on to the bench seat as tight as you can get it to go on. I find that if I try and tighten it any more after that point, the mount starts to work its way upward and off of the bench seat. Putting the seat itself on the mount was also a real pain. The easiest way to do that is to take the two rods (the part that clamps on to the bench seat on the boat) off so that you have room to tighten the 4 bolts and screws. I also put gorilla glue on all the screws because I do not want to have to take the whole thing apart and put it back together again if something loosens up.

I get my boat to the water by putting it on top of my jeep, and I would not be able to do that with a permanent swivel seat. I just keep the seat and mount in my jeep during the trip to the water and slide it on the bench seat when I get there. Like I said , it's good enough for my purposes, I just hope that I don't forget about it not being tight and end up in the water..
