I thought that this would be a great replacement for my old float-type bilge switch.

this is a differant type system than all the others on the market.was a little confusing on hook up as i have a control panel in the bilge area for the bilge pump, auto switch, and 2 live well pumps.it is hooked up now and seems to work really well.the only thing i would change is the depth of water it takes in the bilge to turn on.not a real problem though as i seldom get any water in there anyway.it is a really neat system. i hooked it up with a sunami 800 gph pump .very happy!

Purchased this switch last year and tested great in my 12' Boston Whaler when filled with water from garden hose. Boat is left tied at dock in the bayou and left open to rain. The switch will not turn the pump on when fresh rain water covers the switch, as rain water is too pure...it will not conduct electricity (garden hose water has minerals that conduct and rain water doesn't). Had to add a bucket of bayou water to boat to make it come on. Sent e-mail to Attwood to explain problem and asked for advice. Attwood never responded. The only reason my boat didn't sink was it was a Boston Whaler. I transferred the switch to my sailboat which has dirty bilge water and it works just fine there. Shame on Attwood for not taking the time to respond to an old retired electrician and boat lover.

I'm truly disappointed with my digital bilge switch. The reason I it bought was to get away from the un reliable mechanical switch. If this thing woun't conduct in rain water what good is it? It's the rain water were trying to bail out. Attwood should come clean and advise their customers of this problem.

Nothing to review, it did not work properly out of the box, pump never shut off. Put it back in the box, and now it sits. I am waiting for the water witch switches.

Put this in, but would not work so pulled it out and tested it with a wet cloth and it does not work. I bought a simple float switch and will return this.

Replacement for the old float that had gone out in my sailboat. works perfectly, cheaper then the comparable floats, and well solid state to no worries of filling with water and not working.. :D
