5.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice Natural Conditioner
I really like the fact that I can love a conditioner that isn't made with petrochemicals. I have thin, colored hair (to cover the gray), and use this conditioner daily. It does not weigh my hair down, and it has a nice mild balsam scent. The directions state that you can keep it on longer to use it as a deep conditioner. I have been using this conditioner for a year.

2.0 out of 5 stars very heavy, harsh ingredients
I have been on a two-year hunt for all-natural, organic, sulfate-free, 'cone-free, paraben-free products for my chemically sensitive skin, oily scalp, long Asian hair which is fine but with some coarseness to it, and dry ends. I also would like it to be vegan (or at least vegetarian) and not tested on animals because I'm a vegetarian. Phew! I REALLY wanted to love this...

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely a Keeper, April 27, 2010

This review is from: Aubrey Organics - Gpb Conditioner, 11 fl oz liquid (Misc.)
Here's why this is my favorite deep conditioner to leave in: I had been using the GPB conditioner pretty steadily for awhile and then I switched to another Aubrey Organics conditioner that someone had praised on a discussion board. So I tried that one for 2-3 weeks but what I noticed was that my hair looked nice but was less strong and showed some signs of breakage during detangling - minimal breakage. I immediately switched back to the GPB and I saw an immediate difference. Also the one curly haired 3C person I know with waist length hair has used GPB for over 10 years - that's proof enough for me.

Pro's
Very rich, moisturizing
Great Leave-in
Protein acts as hair strengthener

Can also be bought at Lakshmi's Cupboard Online Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Protein for your hair, May 11, 2010

This review is from: Aubrey Organics - Gpb Conditioner, 11 fl oz liquid (Misc.)
This conditioner was recommended by my hair stylist. She said my fine, curly hair needed protein and this would help strenghten it. It has done the trick.

It's organic, with a great ingredient list. You have to love the smell of balsa as it's very strong, but I love it.

Never had stronger, silkier and softer hair.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for transitioning black hair 4a/4b, August 17, 2009
This review is from: Aubrey Organics - Gpb Conditioner, 11 fl oz liquid (Misc.)
I purchased this product about 4 months ago. I am an African-American female with shoulder lenght 4a/4b hair. I am trying to space out my relaxers to every 3-4months. The worse thing about this is the transition in your hair-there is a distinct difference between the relaxed hair and the new growth. Despite the use of relaxer, I have been trying to use natural products. I stumbled onto Aubrey at my grandmother's health foodstore. This stuff is great. I use the Aubrey (Island Naturals) or Burt Bees shampoo, which can leave my hair a little matted, but as soon as this stuff touches my hair...watch out, it becomes untangled and soft. Initally I left it on for 2-5 minutes while in the shower. Every once in a while, I will leave it on for an hour or 2. Because of the protein (vegetable and milk) I follow this with a Burt Bees moisturizing conditioner. My hair is the bomb! It has a great sheen to it prior to flat ironing. The sheen is even better after the flat iron (w/a HAI-ceramic). I wash my hair 2x/wk. I recommend this for my hair type-thick and nappy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Conditioner for Natural Hair, August 10, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This organic product is the best! If used for a pre-shampoo, it helps to moisturize the hair and keep it tangle free until it is shampooed. It has a very pleasant fragrance. And its thick consistency fully coats the hair. I love this product and highly recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars This stuff is GOOD!, April 18, 2008

Okay, I admit it. I sometimes abuse my hair and I don't always pamper it as I should. But, Sometimes I get so busy!! Excuses aside. Every time I use this conditioner it leaves my hair so soft and supple. It completely restores elasticity. Not to mention that it smells DIVINE!(it has a fresh relaxing tropical/coconut scent but better). I have been natural(w/o chemical process) for over 5 years now.And it took me a while to find a really good rich creamy conditioner that didn't have alcohols, parabens, or yellow no.5 in it. I'm always looking for 100% natural products that deliver (this one does)and an easy to read ingredients label doesn't hurt either!Try Butyl-methyl-dmdm-hydantoin-tocopheryl-ethanol v.s.organic rosemary oil, organic aloe vera, Nettle extract, even Vitamins A, C, & E. All I can say is that my hair feels and looks happy after each use.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good - but not worth the extra effort, May 7, 2007
This review is from: Aubrey Organics - Gpb Conditioner, 11 fl oz liquid (Misc.)
If this were easy to find locally I would repurchase. this is a good product, but not amazing enough to buy online. Very think conditioner - great for coarse thick hair.

2.0 out of 5 stars very heavy, harsh ingredients, November 8, 2008

I have been on a two-year hunt for all-natural, organic, sulfate-free, 'cone-free, paraben-free products for my chemically sensitive skin, oily scalp, long Asian hair which is fine but with some coarseness to it, and dry ends. I also would like it to be vegan (or at least vegetarian) and not tested on animals because I'm a vegetarian. Phew! I REALLY wanted to love this product because it has such a cult following so I used it for over a week even though with most products if my scalp itches and my hair starts falling out I don't use it more than once.

To be fair, it did seal my dry ends--which have been damaged from years of using conditioners with silicone and dimethicone (read up on the damage that 'cones do if unfamiliar)--and my hair looked beautiful for about two hours. Then it became heavy and greasy. After two or three uses my ends became dry, brittle and staticky from the huge amount of protein in this conditioner. I had to spray a leave-in conditioner on the ends in order to detangle. Also, my scalp was incredibly itchy and I was shedding hair like crazy, even when I was using it only on my ends. I experienced this to an even greater degree with another one of Aubrey Organics' conditioners--the Chamomile Luxurious volumizing conditioner.

Normally I wouldn't blame a product for my hypersensitivity and give it two stars, especially since it does exactly what it says it will do, which is restructure and repair damaged and overprocessed hair. But I bought it because on the Aubrey Organics website this conditioner was specifically recommended for those with sensitive scalps and for all hair types which I believe to be flat-out not true. Those with sensitive scalps, fine hair, heavy hair and oily hair will not be happy with this. In fact, many reviews on other sites say that this conditioner is not for frequent use, just deep conditioning.

I have since been to a dermatologist and was told that if you are chemically sensitive then the essential oils and plant essences that these organic products contain are often very potent and very irritating. So I've since switched to Free & Clear shampoo and Earth Sciences fragrance-free conditioner. The Free & Clear fragrance-free shampoo does contain 'cones though so I'm still on the hunt for the HG product for all my unique problems.

4.0 out of 5 stars Smells great and conditions hair just as it should, October 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It works just as well as three minute miracle conditioner but smells wonderful. I just love the smell of this product. The cost seems high to me considering how much you get though.
