5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Story
This is my first time reading Kimberly Kaye Terry. If her other readings are anything like this one sign me up. This was erotica at its best. It made you feel like you were there. It also hit close to home...addressed many women in the world today. I am passing it on to my best friend immediately in hopes it will inspire her to be free too. Loved it couldn't put it...

2.0 out of 5 stars Wow..
First let me say, I love Kimberly Kaye Terry's writing style. I've read a lot of her novels, with two of my favorites being Ridin' The Rails and Get Your Sexy On. She truly brings the HEAT in her books. With that being said, this book fell short in so many ways.

First let me say, I love Kimberly Kaye Terry's writing style. I've read a lot of her novels, with two of my favorites being Ridin' The Rails and Get Your Sexy On. She truly brings the HEAT in her books. With that being said, this book fell short in so many ways.

I'm not sure if it's my misconception or the publishing house's error, but I did not consider this book to be a romance novel. There was sex abound inside, some of which was not my cup of tea, but more than enough to maintain a standing in Erotica. The problem is, the book read more on the scope of self helf from the childhood abuses that molded the heroine into the person she was, and the journey of realization that caused her to let the past go and not define herself by it (with alot of sex thrown in). The heroine's strive for success had nothing to do with "rising up from the squalor of her childhood," but more on her need for control from childhood feelings of powerlessness. The book's cover, which was HOT, was completely misleading. The hero, if you could call him that, had very little interaction with the heroine in this story. I also found it disturbing that a man who cares about a woman and knows of her sexual abuse as an adolescent, would manipulate said woman's need for control as an adult. Why did he think forcing numerous menage a trois' on her with various groups of people, male and female, was the only way for her to release her control and submit? More importantly, how could a person stuck in past feelings of helplessness be impowered by forcibly submitting to various sex acts with unknown individuals? It was distaseful to read about the heroine waking up covered in the bodily fluids of a group of faceless men she did not know. Ugh, NOT HOT!! The ending, left me wanting. The questions were not truly answered and I wanted to know what type of relationship, if any, was going to develop between the hero and heroine. I don't know if this was done purposely to coincide with the other two Odyssey books to be released, as a crossover, or if it was a true ending. Either way, the ending was anti-climatic.

The story has it all; homo-erotic domination and submission, menage a trois and f/f/f menage, anal penetration/stimulation, light voyeurism, cunnilingus and fellatio. It would've been nice if that disclaimer was given in the description of the novel, which would've helped in the decision to purchase.

I'm still a huge fan of KKT and will buy anything she writes, and I'm eagerly awaiting the release of Sream My Name.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Invitation..., June 4, 2009
This review is from: Auctioned: An Invitation Erotic Odyssey (Strebor Quickiez) (Paperback)
Chase Davidson is an overachieving workaholic. When she does not land the promotion that she feels she should have rightly received, she walks off her job. So used to being in control she decides to get away after receiving a mysterious email invitation to "A place where your strongest desires come to blazing life with just one wish..."

She has such a strong desire to always be in control, she is forced to give up her control on the island, during "the auction." The one thing she desires more than anything is to be "number one." On the island all her desires will be fullfilled.

On this island adventure Chase will discover more about herself than she realizes. Chase may be forced into some situations that she may not be totally comfortable with. In doing so she will have to re-exam her life and make some tough decisions.

Not only is AUCTIONED an erotic story but it has an underlying story of a woman coming to grips with her past and striving for change to better herself. There was one part in the story...:"the auction", made me a little leary but it tied in and made sense later on. This was a nice quick read and all the Strebor Quickiez are great for summer reading.

I know that I was. I was expecting something hot but sweet since it was Kimberly Kaye Terry. Not what I got! I even wanted to return it! But I am still a fan though despite it!

2.0 out of 5 stars Flat, one dimensional characters & storyline., December 17, 2011

This is my 1st experience reading anything written by Kimberly Kaye Terry. I won't be rushing out to purchase any other books written by Ms. Terry. I found this novel to be boring. The characters had now real depth to them. Nothing that made you really want to know more about them. The storyline and sex scenes weren't all that great either.... Again, no real depth of description. Every detail written felt superficial as if the author was only scratching the surface and giving the reader a basic construct/outline... No real passion.... I simply didn't care about the story or the characters,

3.0 out of 5 stars Wolfcreek lacks in refunding money for returned book & Comment on Book, November 18, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Auctioned: An Invitation Erotic Odyssey (Strebor Quickiez) (Paperback)
I sent an email to Wolfcreek regarding the return of the book "Auctioneer", the book was in excellent condition. The only qualm I have is that Wolfcreek never notified me regarding a Credit to my account for the receipt/return of the item, this leads me to believe that Wolfcreek is only good for delivering merchandise and not honoring my/the purchaser's request for a refund. After all its been close to a month and no further response was received from Wolfcreek, which leads me to believe that they have no intention of refunding me despite the return of the book to them. I will never order anything else from Wolfcreek and have made a note of this egregious act.

As far as the book goes, Kimberly, never dissappoints the audience in her style of writing. Lots can be learned from the heroine of the book and how she succintly relates to the Title of It, everything was so vivid its like you were there experiencing it with all five senses; a Great read for everyone:).

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Surprise, April 9, 2010
This review is from: Auctioned: An Invitation Erotic Odyssey (Strebor Quickiez) (Paperback)
WARNING: This is erotica. Not an erotica romance. Auctioned is focused on the woman's journey and not on Chase (the heroine) finding her happily ever after.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way . . .. I purchased Auctioned on impulse. My Waldenbooks/Borders is going out of business and their books were 65% off, so being the booklover that I am I went into the store and lost my mind. I bought Auctioned because the cover looked hot. When I finished Auctioned, I went to Amazon to look up everything this author has written. and this is from a woman who demands that her romances have a happily ever after.

Even though this is a short story, the heroine Chase has a depth of character that I haven't found in many full-length novels. She comes off strong but not in a bitchy way. Seeing her back-story (which is beautifully layered in), I understand why she behaved in the way she did. Ms. Terry made it easy for her readers to quickly sympathize and root for the heroine. I understood why she found it impossible to not be in control. When she began to let go and put her faith in others, I nearly stood up and cheered.

Although Auctioned is an erotica novel, it's more than just sex. Auctioned is about accepting your past, learning who you are, and letting go so you can move forward to reach your full potential.

Overall:

Normally, I demand that my stories have a romantic happily ever after. Auctioned did not and I was totally fine with it. Chase's journey from being a woman so afraid of losing control that she wouldn't allow herself to have an orgasm to having faith in herself and others was so compelling, I didn't miss the lack of an hero in the traditional sense of the word.

Go forth and buy. You won't be disappointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Soft Porn, September 8, 2009
This review is from: Auctioned: An Invitation Erotic Odyssey (Strebor Quickiez) (Paperback)
This book was a little too "hot" for my taste. The story line was great and dealt with a serious issue. However, the author handled the way the main character dealt with her past in a way that was totally beyond me. There are sexual scenes that may make some uncomfortable.
