Loads of info. About 2.5 inches thick, like a phone book.
The images and text are good, but not sufficient - you'll need to look up supplementary info on the web, or have a cheapo Hayne's manual alongside to be efficient with it. This book definitely gives you the correct factory info, saved my @$$ many times.

With that, it is still GOOD, a NECESSITY (perhaps a necessary evil?).

Although I am not a mechanic, from what I can tell this is a serious service manual. Very in depth, all fasteners, all steps are gone through, leaving nothing to chance, or guess. Light years more thorough than a Hayes Manual.

Highly recommend it you are doing any sort of maintenence on your own car.

The Bentley A4 manual is a very complete manual. The over all ease of accessing different service info is helpful when trouble shooting most problems. The diagrams are very clear to include the electrical images. The code chart is a must to be able to read the codes concerning all manner of stored computer codes. This is a manual for someone who has knowledge of auto mechanics. There are no step-by-step directions as with some other do-it-yourself automobile manuals.

This book is a good manual for looking up general information about the models covered. However, I feel it covers too many years of production. The 1996-1999 models appear to have a lot more in common than do the 2000 and 2001 models. I use it while working on a 2000 model and often find it difficult finding information because I have to wade through those earlier years information. As for completeness of coverage, the publisher has a disclaimer that because they were limited by size constraints they had to summarize some details. Maybe if they covered fewer years the coverage could be more complete. What would be better is a DVD where one could zoom into all information about a single year and model to avoid confusion. I also wish that the size of bolts could be included instead of just torque data.

purchased this as a birthday present to my son who owns a 1999 Audi A4. Have used the Bentley manuals for other cars and they are far superior to the run of the mill books available. The step by step instructions and illustrations encourages the driveway mechanics to delve deeper into car repair than they may otherwise have tried. Using the book to do one or two repairs will no doubt recoup the book cost in savings from having to pay a mechanic.

this is the most complete service manual i have ever owned. it must weigh 2 pounds, it's 1524 pages and it has absolutely everything you need in it. it was a great purchase.

when the moonroof switch started acting up I bought a new switch online and used this book for instructions on how to install it.

Recieved quickly. Easy to diagnose problems thanks to the manual. Nice not to pay for an over priced mechanic any longer.
