4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good Amp, April 29, 2009

While I submit that automotive stereo systems have an endless number of combinations and configurations I am very pleased with this amplifier so far. I am using it with a good Pioneer DEH 1.5DIN style head unit, a 2 Farad Cap, the Pyramid BNPS102 Sub Speaker system and a 4 Gauge install kit. I wanted a budget subwoofer setup for our Intrepid, but didn't want to go too weak. I didn't like the amp suggested for the speaker system AT ALL. Always check RMS Power output! I was concerned that this amp wouldn't be big enough for two 500W speakers in a 2ohm setup. (It can go anywhere from 2-8ohms.) But it is and sounds great for me. You wouldn't be going to any competitions with this setup, but it makes me happy. Remember that this amplifier is specifically designed for a subwoofer system with only 1 or a maximum of 2 speakers. Best of luck to you all and happy rockin'!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value, June 15, 2009
This review is from: Boss Audio D1200M Diablo Class D Monoblock Power Amplifier (Electronics)
I use this to power a single 12" shallow sub in a .75 cf enclosure. It works great. Doesn't get too hot. Certainly runs at least a little cooler than other amps I've had. The sound is clean. Lots of control over the frequency and gain etc. The included bass control knob is a nice bonus and has a bright blue LED that is always on (I covered mine with a small tab of black electrical tape because my interior lights are all amber, not blue). Another cosmetic consideration: The BOSS letters on the amp light up red when it's on which looks cool. But more importantly, the amp sounds great. This is a ton of amp for the money!

I bought this amp around a month or so ago to go along with a pioneer 1200W sub and it powers it great makes the Pioneer live up to its reputation. The remote gain control is a nice feature to have hidden in the console to adjust accordingly when its needed. So as of right now I have no complaints except for their customer service isn't very good I had called to ask what they would reccomend me set the gain at for my sub and had never gotten a response but I feel its set just right now. Thinking about getting a boss package that is the sub and amp in one combo for another vehicle and give their subwoofers a shot.
