Editorial Reviews

Barely recovering from the shock of their first Metal Blade Release, Mnemic are back with a monster! Lik Pantera, but ever so better, large melodic twists and even more power makes "Audio Injected Soul" the follow up release of 2004.

5.0 out of 5 stars New Amazing Sound!!, January 9, 2005

I have both Mnemic albums and since this one came out I was ready to get myself a copy. Mnemic is really a distinctive band beside having Meshuggah's influnces in their music but they made it their own unique metal sound. I love all the different odd time signatures incorporated into their songs blending with heaviness, harsh and clean melodic vocals and melodic passages. I can't get enough of Mnemic!!! To execute this type of musical performances takes brilliant minds and talents. Top notch metal work from Mnemic. I am sure there will be more awesome albums to be put out by them over time and I am also certain that they will be huge!!! Highly recommended for metal fans!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING, October 10, 2004
This review is from: Audio Injected Soul (Audio CD)
Many people have said the new Mnemic album offers nothing new, and it's all been done by Meshuggah with the "odd time signatures", or by Fear Factory with the "futuristic mechanical metal" genre. But the thing is, (and many closed-minded people may argue) it's never been done this well. Mnemic truly come into their own on this album and though they're a bit more melodic on The Audio Injected Soul than they were on Mechanical Spin Phenomena, they don't really compromise any heaviness at all. Plus, The Audio Injected Soul is very polished and well produced. Best tracks on here are "Dreamstate Emergency", "Door 2.12", "Deathbox", and from track 7 til the end. The last track, "Wild Boys" is a brilliant cover of an old Duran Duran song. That's why it doesn't fit the album, cause it's not their song, and a lot of bands tend to throw a cover at the end of the album if they recorded one. Also, a couple notes: Towards the end of the album especially, Mnemic sound A LOT like Soilwork (which isn't a bad thing by any means). And the only semi-gripe I have about this album was the hype of it being recorded with AM3D Audio Technology for a full, surrounding experience on headphones, and it is, but only for the 2 songs they recorded with the technology. And even then, one of the songs is the short intro to the cd, which is of a man walking with a drill of sorts... Cool, but no music. So other than "Deathbox" and the aforementioned intro titled "The Audio Injection", all other songs are recorded like any other. Regardless, being a huge Mnemic fan since the last cd, this album definitely gets a 5 out of 5 from me.

Every track from Dream State Emergency is better than the one before. If you like soilwork then you will like Mnemic.
