very beautiful instrumental music,

this album is amazing from start to finish. anyone who really appreciates music will probably enjoy this. the whole look and feel of the album and the music is so beautiful.....themes of alienation and despair within such a crazy system of capitalism and the commodification of everything...even music...which ends up becoming insincere and more of a product than real creativity. this album is very much the latter. at times very busy and technical other times very sparse and gentle...has jazzy parts and mathy parts. buy this. support this band.

Fantastic, eclectic music.,

The Cancer Conspiracy are currently one of my favorite bands because of the broad range of music in which they dabble. While it's not always very cohesive (because of their use of ever-shifting musical motives), this album is a breathtaking listen; and the fact that this entire effort was put together by only 3 individuals only further solidifies just how incredible this CD is. It's this kind of CD that causes my tendency to write reviews using a bunch of hybrid analogies (math rock crossed with bits and pieces of bebop and maybe some Pink Floyd or Mogwai, possibly) to dwindle. While it is a great album, there is a lot to digest, so give this album some time; you'll find yourself rewinding the recording to hear certain parts a number of times (because they're that good!).

I've been trying for the past few days to coax forth from my brain the words necessary to explain to you, the reader, what to expect in this album. However, a satisfactory characterization eludes me, because this isn't quite like anything else out there. There are riffs that recall Mogwai, or The Mars Volta, or even Dream Theater, but only ever fleetingly. And I can't say for certain that if you like those bands, you'll like this; however, there's no real reason anyone should dislike this. Ultimately, if you're looking for something different, for music that is actually quite beautiful but also complex, for a change of pace from what the radio or MTV crams down your throat, then give this album a try.

The Kids Are Alright Cause They've Made Their Own!,

What great band! I have read many reviews describing them from progressvie to math rock. CC breake every mold within these limited titles. Everything from the art work and sleve to the album to the actual music is an experiece. If you like music that challenges...moves....and prvokes you, then this is for you. It seldom sits still long enough to descrbie but when it does...it explodes with intercate musicianship in each of the 3 members. lots of guitar effects, synths, and even a horn.

Just good music.,

I love it when a band can just write good music like this. With so much trite music floating around the world, this band gives me great hope in progression. The music is very true and it integrates so many elements. "The silence of underwater traffic" evokes so much emotion through the instrumentation of only keyboard and guitar and provides a quite unique listening experience. The rest of the songs exemplify wonderful musicianship and an exit from the stereotypes of genres. It is just good music. Give it a listen.

What the hell is this crap? No vocals? How these guys ever got signed is beyond me. Get a singer and maybe I might enjoy this shlock garbage.
