They last...,

I recieved these headphones as a gift back 3 years ago for my 18th birthday. They've lasted all this time and still sound great, they have superb quality when used with my dell dj, cd player, everything. One of the ear pieces comes loose but that is due to my rought treatment not defective merchandise. I highly recommend these as they are an exceptional piece of equipment for the price.

These headphones didn't blow me away, but they are great for the listed price of $20. Bass is minimal (forget 'em if you're into hip-hop). As an unemployed college student these were the best I was able to afford after my other set suddenly stopped working.
They look and feel pretty cheap e.g. the thin plastic headband, the length adjustments. The cord is way too long for the on-the-go listener,so keeping it tied up to the appropriate length is a must. Not much to look at, but for me that's a plus, as I didn't want a set that looked like princess leia's side-buns - i.e. they aren't bulky or any sort of fashion statement. The ear padding is pretty comfortable, but after extended listening ( 4+ hours) they may get a bit uncomfortable. If you are looking for a new set of quality headphones at a decent price, then these are probably the set for you. Certainly a major upgrade from ipod ear buds or any other similar basic set. All in all, these headphones are good. They're cheap (not a huge investment), comfortable, and really, a nice sound.

I bought this headphones 1 year ago and still they are like new. there are several things I want to mention:1. Size: if you like headphones that have form factor like this, you will be very happy. size is very good, it's not heavy, it sits fine on the head & covers years firmly 2. Build Quality: quality is fantastic! It's very solid, it's made from quality plastic, parts are assembled well. Overall it's very solid & strong headphones 3. Sound Quality: for this price, it's much more better than other headphones in same price range. Low, Mid & High frequencies sound very clear & over time sound quality stays the same. Also I'm very happy with its very wire, which you can get anywhere. Overall you will be very happy with this headphone, in this price range.

I have some JVC headphones that were about $20, which has excellent sound, but was curious if I could get a better sound from another equally priced headphones. I think that these produce sound as if they cost $50, and durable. The super long cord is somewhat perplexing, but I guess it has it's uses.

With between 20-20,000 hz frequency response, I expected these headphones to be on par with others in the same price-range. I was expecting acceptable sound quality and durability. What I received, much to my surprise and pleasure, were a pair featuring reasonable durability for the price and a surprisingly high sound quality. They've literally transformed some of my favorite albums into all new listening experiences. All the levels of rhythm and harmony are audible (within reason), crisp and clear. I highly recommend these headphones for anyone looking for a decent, reasonably priced pair of headphones that will deliver exceptional quality of sound for their listening pleasure.

Best-sounding headphones for the price,

These are the best-sounding headphones I've ever come across for the price! They don't sound too tinny or have too much midrange like most cheap headphones. However, they're not built to last. Parts can break, and the thin plastic coating over the ear pads disintegrates into flakes after a few years. I've owned three or more pair of these over the last ten years or so.

Excellent headphones. As mentioned before, the sound is slightly muffled, especially compared to my sony mdr-j10's, but overall, the sound quality is superb. the bass isnt crazy, but it isnt weak either. i would give it 4 stars because of the insanely long 11-foot cord, but i knew what i was buying before i bought it, so no worries there. and plus, now i can roll away from my desk and not worry about getting whiplash!
What i like most about these is that they arent too tight on my head. they're snug, but not so loose as to fall off if i lean down. my ears get a little warm, but not nearly as much as some other over-the-ear headphones ive used. The value was too good to pass up, so i got a pair for my lil bro too. if these things last more than a year [given the previous reviews, it sounds like they will], they will be more than worth the 20 bucks they cost. as of now, i am more than satisfied. if youre looking to jam to music with some panache, dont get these, theyre pretty ordinary looking headphones. just the way i like it though: very plain looking, but highly functional.

These indeed are really great for the price. Well beyond competitive offerings that I've tried. The bass is on the heavy side for me, but that's small beer really. The clarity is amazing, again at this price point. I also wear glasses and am happy to find a decent set of phones that are on-ear instead of having to go over-ear route.
Added bonus, even though these are open-back, they really isolate noise - not just coming in, but going out as well. People at work repeatedly come up and think I can hear them - ha. So you can crank it and not worry about bothering guy in next cube. And, the long cord actually is a huge advantage for computer being under desk/jack on back kind of situation. Followup: I recently switched to NuForce Icon uDAC-2 USB DAC/headphone amp (as indicated above, I use these at work) from plugging into sound card directly. The updates would be: 1) As expected, the limitations of the phones are exposed, although again for $20 they are still great - but like you'd expect, if you really put in quality signal you probably want to go up a bit. For work listening and reasons already described, I'm not in a big hurry to upgrade by any stretch. And 2), the heavy bass above is diminished - this amp controls the bass much better so I think the bass response noted is probably more due to source issues than the phones themselves.

I love these headphones! They are affordable with decent quality sound. My only complaints would be the extremely long cord, which is understandable but a little too long for me, and the fact that the cushions come off a little too easily.

These headphones sound amazing for the the price I paid for them. I bought them as a gift for my girlfriend and she was equally amazed. The cord is extremely long and useful in places where you are far from the device you are listening to (ie. the computer, walking around listening to a CD boom box). The Sony headphones I have now have no bass, are starting to break, and cost me almost as much as these. See if I buy another pair of Sony headphones again...
