4.0 out of 5 stars Good dynamic mic, November 1, 2008
We bought this microphone to test a couple of alternatives for our church pulpit. The old mic was a dynamic cardioid so this mic would be a simple replacement. Its sound was very good and it was a nice upgrade from the old chrome mic. However, we also tested an Audio Technica condenser mic (Audio-Technica AT857AMLA Cardioid Condenser) that we liked better - the condenser had a longer gooseneck, smaller mic head and seemed to pick up the speaker's voice from further away. The condenser was more than twice as expensive and required phantom power and we still decided to go with the condenser. The ATR-3M is a very attractive, lower priced alternative, though, for the right application.
