Lacks bite,
This review is from: Dr Who Audio Twin CD Loups Garoux (Dr Who Big Finish) (Audio CD)
In the year 2080, the Doctor and Turlough arrive in Rio for carnival. But the party is cut short when an alluring werewolf crosses their path.To be honest, this audio just didn't excite me. The plot is contrived, the performances seem flat and the attraction between the Doctor and Ileana is utterly forced. All in all, it was quite disappointing.

A below avg story hampers some pretty good performances by Peter Davidson and Mark Strickson. As usual the Dcotor and his companion accidently stumble onto great things while traveling (This time to Rio for Carnival) as usual the Doctor eventually saves the day.The attempt to get the doctor more interested with the female lead frankly falls flat, Davidson does his best to sound like he means it and almost pulls it off, but the key word is almost. Strickson's Turlough still remains one of the most interesting characters ever introduced into the series but he isn't given much to work with. He actually does a better job. The supporting cast is frankly weaker than most of the other stories in the series. Still your collection is short a story without it, get it but don't put it high on the list. |
