This book is written in a casual, even humorous, style and explains everything in a clear and constructive way. The author has obviously learned the best way of doing things, after years of actually doing it. And, the pictures! That's what makes it stand out from the rest - the large, full-color illustrations that show you exactly what he's talking about. This book is as valuable as a soldering iron or wire strippers for anyone who wants to do things the right way and avoid future problems because they just guessed at it. Highly recommended!

Why are MIDI cables not included in this book?! Although not strictly "audio", they are nonetheless very prevalent in many lengths in any music studio which the author references in his imaginary music studio tutorial at the end of Chapter 1. Please include in future editions.

Also, an explanation of appropriate soldering iron temperatures for the author's 62/36/2 solder would be very helpful.

Otherwise, the book is very detailed, easy to comprehend and very well illustrated.

i would recommend this book to anyone, i knew nothing about wiring until i read this book, it's straight forward and practical and the photographs are clear and self explanatory, i'm wiring my recording studio and it has saved me literally thousands of dollars, thanks to the authors!

What's the most important piece of gear in a recording studio? Hint: It's not your mixer, your DAW, or your microphones. It's your wiring. Proper wiring is the difference between having a serious studio and from just having a room with a bunch of equipment in it.

John has had a career's worth of making that kind of wiring difference in every kind of studio from the smallest to some of the largest and most famous in the world.

It's darn near impossible to hire John unless you are in the N.Y.C. area, and even then he's not easy to get.

If you can't have a world-class audio technician like John wire your studio and musical gear, then this book is the next best thing.

The audio wiring guide is a great handbook to have around for any audio wiring project. Its layout is easy to read and to the point - a good choice for anyone interested in the audio field!

This complex subject is made more accessible combining both a detailed knowledge of the area and a commonsense approach to explanation. Overall a great addition to the field.

I love this book! I had forgotten the basics and my studio sounds so much better. The printing is very good,and the colors are distinct and it is easy to follow the text. I will save money by being able to trouble shoot my noise problems that have plagued my recording projects.
