Perfect for all TV related things,
By
This review is from: Audio X Rocker - Black (Kitchen)
This chair is perfect for watching movies or playing videogames (I use it for both very often). I love the built in speakers and they are compatible with EVERYthing you would need... The DVD player, the videogame system, the actual TV itself, and you can even hook up your mp3 player to it. The chair rocks but not enough to be annoying, just enough to give you something to do while sitting. The armrests are simple, but comfortable. There is a bass and volume control down on the bottom right of the chair. You honestly feel like you're at the movies when you sitting in this thing in the dark with the speakers on. If you are looking for an alternative to a generic couch or chair for when you spend time infront of the TV, the audio X rocker is definitley a great buy.

excellent gaming chair,

Quickly, I will tell you it is well built, it is a good looking chair, and the speakers sound great (I have the chair connected to my headphone plug of my surround sound receiver so the audio is outputed to the chair. My XBox 360, PS3, and the Wii all sound great!) The bass sound is great on the chair. It's also stable and rocks appropriately for lack of a better description.
Finally, one of the chair's best advantage is the arm rests. Many gaming chairs don't have them and having them provides great support while gaming for hours. THe only con for me is that I wish the chair was a little cushier - it is conformtable but I think a little to firm. But that probably has to do with the housing of the chair which holds the speakers and electronics inside. Nevertheless a good buy, a good chair, and worth the price. Oh, and easy to put together (about three steps really).

I received an Xrocker for my B-day and absolutely love it. I can hook up my Xbox/PS2 or GameCube, DVD or IPod though the speaker system. The chair itself is very comfortable too as it rocks gently to your pace. Highly Recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought 2 of these together to add temporary additional seating to my 4 permanent seats in my home theatre. These will be used on the floor in front of my front theatre row for extra seating. These are very well built. I am 31 and weigh 210 and they are solid and confortable. They have sturdy padded chrome armrests. The speakers are pleasently surprising in their sound quality with little to no distortion at max volume. There is even red lighted ring around the sub on the back, really cool. My wife loves them as she is rocking in it with her MP3 player right now. They are easily worth twice the price. Do not bother looking further just get these.

Sturdy chair and armrests are a plus,
This review is from: Audio X Rocker - Black (Kitchen)
This is a great chair for video gaming. I looked at a lot before purchasing this one and for the money it is best hands down. The biggest reason is the armrests. Most don't have any and it is nice to have a place to rest your arms while holding the gaming remote. It rocks nicely (not too much) and the sound is great. In my expereince, have found it to be compatabile with ipod, dvd, ps2 and TV. I am looking at getting a second one because we like the first one so much. When they go on sale at Target for $64, or so, they are a steal~!

Great chair for Gaming, worth the $,

I've already bought a couple of chairs just for use playing my xbox 360 or when using my laptop. However I had always gone the cheapest route fearing I'd be wasting my money on a chair I regretted buying. I have bought and returned a couple lower modeled similar chairs to this look wise mainly because I felt like they would fall apart or if I laid back they had no control and could tip. I bought a couple metal folding types as well for $20-40 but they wore out of just weren't comforable.
However I decided to finally go ahead and spend a bit more and did some research, every review on this chair was great. Originally I didn't want the speaker system but it didn't seem like there was a solid option without it. So I went and tested it out and immediately loved it. Comfort wise it is excellent if you like a firm chair, the cushioned headrest is a great and high enough you can actually lean back unlike many of the chairs. The armrests are nice as well and at first I thought I wouldn't use them but now find they were are a plus(if you don't want them you can leave them off). One of the best features of the chair is it's stability it is balanced well and the width and depth of the seat keep you in control with the ability to rock but not lean back and lose control and tip over backwards. The bonus for me is the sound, now I am no expert but when I hooked this into my xbox 360 and was playing some Halo3 I was really blown away. The quality was great and the speaker placement is really good, with the volume and bass controls on the side it is easy to adjust for personal preference. I don't have a sound system hooked to my gaming center so this really provided that to me along with what I most needed a comfortable seat for those late night gaming sessions.

The only negative is the anti-rust spray I had to apply to the rusty pin and the linkage it goes through to keep the chair in the open position while you attach the arms, if you choose to do so. I can't see inside the chair but everything works and sounds very solid. Ace Bayou Corp. gives its' location as New Orleans, LA, which may explain the source of the rust? There is a warning label on the arms not to put your weight on them while entering/exiting the chair but at 180lbs they feel sturdy to me. The newer X-rocker II has less sturdy but foldable arms which also makes it easy to fold the whole chair. The vinyl on this chair is thick and well stitched with a side pocket and a zippered storage area under the chair. At 5'7"(on a good day), I find this chair comfortable and supportive, although definitely not plush. It is stable on my hardwood floor and probably more so on carpeting. I'm not a gamer but I have been using this chair as a stand alone speaker system while listening to a portable radio or my tv, whether seated in it or not, and I have some decent stereo equipment! The power cord is about 6.5' long and the audio cord is about 10', with 3.5mm and RCA ends and adapters. This is my first experience with this type of product and I highly recommend the X-rocker.

This is a fantastic product. I tried 1 other chair before this, and this blew it away. I initially wanted a chair that folds, but I soon found out that the higher quality chairs do not fold, so if you want a sturdy and reliable chair, stationary is the way to go.
The X Rocker has a great bass sound coming from under your seat, and up by your ears you have the left and right channels, so as the game or movie or whatever you have on your sound system starts dividing the audio between the left and right, you will hear it to the appropriate side. The sound really envelops you as you sit in this relaxing and comfortable chair. It comes with all the cables you need, including adapters to make it work in you situation. I turn it on to watch movies and just leave it in the middle of the room. It rocks fully onto its back very easily, so be careful with wild and crazy rocking, esp. w/ little kids. It Holds up to 250 lbs with sturdy construction. Very easy to put together in just a few minutes. I would get one again and again, hands down.

Great sound, but could be a bit more comfortable,

I received this as a gift and wasn't sure exactly what to think of it. I do spend many hours per week playing video games, and usually the sofa or other chairs aren't positioned exactly where I want them -- which is right in front of the screen, dead-center. Turning up the stereo also bothered everybody else in the house. This chair allows me to sit exactly where I want, with quick access to sound controls, and the sound literally right under me.
The sound from this chair is excellent. It has a decent-sized ported subwoofer located on the back of the chair. Bass is excellent, if not "rumbling". The stereo speakers are located at the top of the chair, on each side of the headrest. Although they face out, away from the chair, their placement actually creates a decent stereo effect -- similar to wearing headphones, without that "sound in the middle of the head" effect. Volume is quite adequate -- turning the volume all the way up produces virtually no distortion while gaming, and only slight distortion while listening to music. It's great for watching movies or other videos. Additionally, you can actually keep the volume lower during off-hours gaming -- and since the speakers are practically right next to your head, you can still hear everything. The controls include a separate bass adjustment and volume control, an audio input, and an audio output for daisy-chaining more than one chair or connecting it to something else. The chair is comfortable. Even after over one year, the padding and cushioning has maintained its shape and the chair has remained comfortable, including the headrest. It has a decent curved shape, but I think the chair tends to recline too far when you just sit in it. I end up placing a pillow under the back to help keep it leaning forward; otherwise, I end up leaning forward with no back-support. The armrests are perfectly positioned and make for comfortable gaming. The downside is the length of the included cables. The audio cable is just long enough for my placement/installation, but I would have preferred something longer. I would recommend finding an extension cable. The chair uses a power supply, and the cable for that is relatively short -- you'll either need to be near an outlet or have an extension cord available. The cables result in a not-so-neat installation and create a trip-hazard. Overall, the chair has provided many, many hours or reliable enjoyment. I've owned it for over a year, and the material has not split or cracked, and it is in perfect working condition. I recommend this chair for any "console gamer". |
