Product Description

The Plug-In-N-Recharge features, with the recharge mechanisms built right on the microphones and the receiver, make the AWM6112 wireless microphones ready to be used at any time. This system includes two handheld wireless microphones and rack-mount kit.

Please note:

A) Newer lots/generations (systems produced after July 2013) only requires 4 batteries total, meaning 2 rechargeable batteries per microphone. Batteries are included with the system. These newer lots also have a different process in how the microphones are to be charged. To charge: Power needs to be "off" for both mics to charge at the same time. If "both" mics are in the "cradles" while the power is on, neither mic will charge. (Refer to Owner's Manuel for further detailed explanation).

B) Older lots/generations (systems produced before July 2013) requires 6 batteries total, 3 rechargeable batteries per microphone. Batteries are included with the system. To charge successfully: Unit needs to be turned on and plugged into the wall. Make sure mics are secured in the "cradle". Red light means it's charging, green/yellow light means they are done charging. Battery life should last approximately 8-9 hours, depending on the quality of the batteries used.

We rec'd a cheapo karaoke system and wanted to add better mics to it. So we purchased this unit and hooked it up. Very easy to set up. We also had our surround sound to accompany the new system. After our first big gathering with our friends, we knew we had to get an additional set.
This does the job for a relatively cheap form of entertainment. It's not top of the line but we've had numerous gatherings since our first purchase and have had no complaints.
I would recommend this product if you are looking for some good old fun that won't cost an arm and a leg.

Excellent set of two rechargeable microphones. I already had 2 of these for the last 8 years and they are awesome for the price. I purchased these two and now have 6 wireless microphones and can say without a doubt these are as good as any at any price. I am again very pleased and do a lot of Karaoke singing with them.

Pro's: Good sound; great operating range; batteries are charged at the base; rechargeable batteries are included (NiMH); batteries charge in less than an hour and last over 2 hours (don't know actually how long cuz I got tired of waiting for them to drain! another review reported over 3 hours); nice LED readouts; separate level adjustments; single combined output (good for me since I'm short on inputs on my sound console); mic's feel good in the hand...hefty, due mainly to 3 AA batteries in each one; mic's are in phase with each other; LED power on indicator.

Con's: Frequencies are non-changeable; no way to tell what the frequencies are before you buy*--not listed on Amazon, or on the company's website, or even in the owner's manual--just on the led readout of the base unit; mic's have 3-position slide switches for power--one is "off", and BOTH of the others are "on"--why?; the color stripes on the mic's are very small so cannot be seen from a distance...besides, they are meaningless since there is no corresponding color code on the receiver unit; the mic's are a little too penis-shaped for mixed company, but purchasing foam windscreens solves that nicely; mine arrived having been opened (used? refurbed?)...a small piece of styrofoam was broken off in the box, none of the baggies were taped shut, the base unit power switch was "on", and the batteries were just floating around freely in the box; there is a typo in the manual regarding charging--says to turn off mic's before "changing" batteries...I believe it means before "charging" them; battery compartment cover slides open somewhat easily as they are right where the hand grips the mic's; output is mic level only; no headset jack for monitoring/testing the receiver.

*Frequencies used are VHF 195.15 mhz and 175.

Good sound quality, take a lot of abuse well. The "skin" of the mic feels great in the hand. Excellent range. Solid construction.

Would be nice if one didn't have to be so meticulous about making sure the mic is off when set on the cradle, but it's not THAT big a deal.

Verdict: I like them, and recommend them highly.

EDIT: Why is it so hard to make a battery cover that won't fall off and disappear? Why? WHYYYYYYYYY??? (great mic's though...)

this is a great product and works as advertised. you do need to keep the mic close to the mouth but that keeps background noise from being transmitted. great product.

I purchased this wireless mic system just to have as a back up for my Line 6 Wireless mic system.
First off let me say this, I purchased this item thinking it would be a piece of junk, but I was wrong! The microphone receiver box is decent quality and made out of sturdy metal, not plastic like some of the others. The wireless microphones are made out of plastic and have that simulated rubbery coating on them, so they wont slip out of your hand. The Mic's aren't round. they have a ridge along each side of them that runs the entire length of the body. But that actually helps you get a better grip on it. Its not light, and its not heavy. It has enough heft to make it feel sturdy, but it isn't heavy enough that your hand will become fatigued from holding it for long periods. (such as a toast at a wedding, or seminar)
Sound quality is decent. The sound quality is not going to blow you away by any means, but it sounds clear and crisp.
For professional DJ's, this is good as a back up or secondary system. It's definitely not meant for heavy DJ use and being hauled around like us DJ's do with our equipment, But take care of it and it will last. For other applications such as churches, schools, or other places where it will sit in one spot, It'll work great and take a small beating.
I tried it out last weekend at a wedding and it worked fine. Batteries last a long time. but I keep them stored in the charger.
The charger does have some problems. The Mic's wobble around a little bit when they're docked and sometimes don't make good contact. but that's no reason not to buy this microphone. Works very well and I'm pleased.

I bought it because it has great reviews.

Pro:
-- No drops; no noises or interference; like everyone else said.
-- Hold's battery charges well.
-- Priced right

Con:
-- Feels light. Can they add more metal to beef up the image?
-- The color rubber bands to identify mic is a failure in design. They easily come off and not sure how long the rubber bands will last.
-- More importantly, I compared it with my wired mic from Radio Shack (not top of the line, just a good $40 lined one). The sensitivity was higher - in fact it picks up a lot of breathing sound from your mouth whereas Radio Shack one picks up none; also at the deep voice level below 100 Hz, the Radio Shack one seems richer. I noticed the range of this mic is rated 80 hz and up, and the RS one is 50 and up
-- The Ni-Mh batteries provided are 1000 mAh. The top of of the line in the industry is 2000 mAh and above. So they could be better.
-- Compared to my neighbor's old ARK VHF wireless - the ARK was clearly better.

So I am not quite sure if I'd keep it. I may want to spend a little more to get better ones - perhaps those rated 50hz and above; but the more expensive ones does not have rechargable unit.

I am going to invite a semi-pro to come to my karaoke party this week then decide if I should return it to get a more expensive one.

Okay after the 'pro' review and comparison to older ARK VHF ones, this is okay for voice and amateurs. Not good enough for dead hard K-pros. I could careless but if they think it is not good enough, I need something better for them to come to my party.
