What can I say? As an engineer, this cable defies all logic and sense that was knocked into me over the years in engineering college and in professional life. Looking at this cable and other cables from this company with crazy price tags I seriously doubt the ethics and professional integrity of this company. I will not do business with this company even if they have cables selling for a dollar a piece.

Audioquest should become more honest and sell themselves as a fashion company - not a company selling engineering goods. A good screw driver is an engineering tool that is used in the real world to build stuff. The same screwdriver no matter how good when made of diamonds, gold, platinum and costing 10 times or more than an equivalent tool is no longer an engineering tool. It becomes a luxury item, a fashion statement for some folks who need that fashion accessory to feel good about themselves. You keep such stuff in safes and strut them around for a totally different purpose. You don't use fashion accessories to build real work gadgets. Folks use fashion to build their image.

If you choose to connect your light bulb with a copper cable or Gold it will still glow with the same intensity. Perhaps due to cable resistance and other electromagnetic properties that vary from metal to metal the actual current arriving at the bulb will vary and the light emitted from that bulb will be different to that extent. It may be better or worse with Gold however you will need more than a human eye to tell the difference in the light quality – to even tell that gold is a better choice than copper. You will need equipment worth 1000s of dollar to closely observe and scrutinize the difference in light spectrum. For the normal Human eye this difference will be nonexistent. So why use gold instead of copper? If it makes you feel good that your cables will never corrode or it gives you bragging rights go ahead if it floats your boat. For me I would prefer to use copper for my audio and electric cables unless another cheaper metal or alternative comes on the scene with equivalent or better electrical properties than copper. Corrosion or other presumed advantages of gold have little to do as long as my light glows to my satisfaction. And when my copper cables corrode I will simply replace them for a fraction of the cost of these ridiculously priced cables.

This HDMI cable is a digital signal carrier and does not even carry analog signals. Any one with a basic education in digital electronics will know that digital and Analog signals are handled very differently both at the source and the receiving equipment. A certified HDMI cable with the right specs is the same when it comes to delivering the goods whether it is made of copper or gold. So here the analogy between gold and copper to pass electricity for your bulb does not even apply. This is almost akin to saying that a diamond studded or gold water pipe will give you more water than a copper pipe that matches the flow of water from the source. If the source can provide so many gallons of water and you have the right sized copper pipe that can deliver this quantity then no matter how big you make that pipe or build that pipe with diamonds, gold or platinum you will still get the same amount of water unless the source increases its capacity to pump more. Also your water at the final destination will not become nectar simply because it was delivered on a golden pipe. And if it does it is a faulty pipe because your destination needs water not nectar.

But I guess if it makes you feel good that your water is being delivered on golden pipes go ahead. If I need an electron microscope to analyze the difference in picture quality between your TV running on Audioquest cables and mine running on $3 hdmi cables from ebay I will stick to my $3 copper cable as I don’t use electron microscopes to watch and enjoy HD TV. I use my eyes. As for the audio, my ears cannot tell the difference either – so I am happy with my copper cables devoid of any diamonds, gold and other advanced proprietary, newly patented technology. Good quality audio video cables made of copper and reasonably priced quite easily meet my exacting standards which may not be as exacting as yours. Like I said, I use my eyes and ears to enjoy video and audio – not specialized instruments that analyze the light spectrum of each pixel, sound frequencies and harmonics.

I won’t call myself an audiophile but I always thought I am very sensitive to sound and video quality. But I guess my so called high standards are not high enough to justify paying for cables like these. I guess I am too naïve or stupid to tell the difference between water delivered on copper and golden pipes. And as long as I remain that stupid, copper it is.

So I bought this cable to get the free shipping on orders over $35. Little did I know that this piece of hardware would change my life. I can watch shows from all years; literally! So far I am getting caught up with the news of the year 3042 (Spoiler Alert: the Burning man celebration has moved to the surface of Mars...and everybody on earth is Muslim.). I was able to turn in and watch the beginning of time itself and who needs history reenactment shows when you can watch reruns of actual history. I am currently planning to also use this cable for autoerotic axfixiation. I will update posting when I finish.

This hdmi cable was great I only had to sell half my belongings and a kidney to buy it. I bought two for both of my tv's and when I plug the cable in to both tv's my tv was faster and the audio was great. I went to sleep on the floor that day since I had sold my bed and woke up the next day to find that they had transformed into sentient fighting robots that had destroyed half my house and the neighborhood so if you don't mind everything being destroyed you will have fun with your family for a long time (if they are still alive)

To beautiful to just plug into you my TV, it's not worthy. I just hang it on the wall next to my wedding picture and first born. I occasionally use it as a wrap it around bracelet when I'm meeting with dignitaries or at the Oscars.

My wife wanted another child but I kept insisting that it wasn't the right time financially. I ordered this cable thinking my TV shows won't buffer whole watching cable, but my wife flipped sh*ts when she found out how much I spent on this. Currently typing this review while sleeping on the couch.
