Product Description

AudioQuest Preamp Jumpers are specially-designed to replace the "U" plugs on higher quality receivers and integrated amps. Each preamp jumper is constructed of a single solid core PSC+ conductor that is inserted into an air tube, then soldered to high-quality RCA plugs. The result is an enormous improvement in sound quality.

The background noise is lower and the sound quality better!

I can't really tell a difference after the switch but no matter--I wanted it and now I have it. :-)

These made a very nice improvement in sound quality over the stock jumpers.

Not every day does a product come along that is both cheap and wonderfully effective, especially in the audio world. Audioquest's preamp jumpers are a fantastic upgrade over the cheap, metal pin jumpers that come with most audio/video receivers. Let's be honest, the name of the game here is not improving a signal, cables can't do that. Good cables function merely as damage control, minimizing distortion and loss of the source. The stock metal jumpers that come with receivers are poorly constructed. They offer inferior conductivity, increased resistivity, and permits signal noise. Audioquest has ported over technology from some of their best cables lines for these cheap little jumpers and the result is a noticeable improvement in audio resolution and and cleanliness. Audioquest uses their high quality Perfect Surface Copper+ cable inside nice dielectric shielding to provide minimal signal loss. Their gold-placed connectors solidly grip the preamp RCA inputs and make a very nice connection. You wouldn't think such a small expanse of cable would make a difference, but that's just how truly bad the factory jumpers are.

Audiophiles are content to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars chasing down minuscule improvements in their systems. For $30, you simply won't find ANYTHING that gives your system the sonic improvement these will. For those that care about sound, its not just a good purchase, its a no-brainer.

I tried these on a McIntosh integrated and found them to be just "Okay." They weren't as harsh as the stock jumper, but compared to a good interconnect they rolled off the high end compressing the sound. I sent them back and put the much more expensive IC back in. Too bad I really wanted to have an inexpensive fix. They are well-made for the money.

This item is a small but worthwhile improvement. It replaced factory supplied jumpers of lower quality
and after making the change and some burn in time,I feel the system improved, especially in upper mids
and high frequencies.Satisfied with the change, however I really wanted the "older" version which appeared
to have better rca plugs and domestic wire.

I purchased this preamp-amp link/jumper for my NAD M3 Intergrated. I had already replaced the factory jumpers with a pretty good set of RCA interconnects. I thought I would clean up the look by replacing them this set of jumpers. In term of sound quality, I am still in the burn-in period so, I can't really comment on it too much. But so far, I really like the sound: clean, clear, and transparent. I've made a lot of changes to my audio system in term of setup and other upgrades in the last few weeks. It is hard to attribute the improvement to just the jumpers, but for sure it did not degrade. If you are going from factory jumpers to this set, I am sure you are going to hear an improvement.

On the quality, I did have an issue with one of the jumper. The RCA jack that goes to the power amp side was a little lose and thus cut out the sound from time to time. When I touched it, it would work again. At first I thought something wrong with the actual wire, but then I removed it and used a pair of pliers to make the connection tighter. It has since working without any issues.

If you you know enough to even be looking at these, then you are probably on the lunatic fringe of audio and are looking for an inexpensive improvement for a system that has already overstretched your budget. I am this person. The AudioQuest jumpers are well built and the connections are solid; there is no fear of damaging them when installing or handling them. They do add detail to the sound you hear, adding air and nuance throughout the audio range. They do what they are supposed to do. However, this purchase is going to be a gamble for everyone because there is no telling whether they will improve the sound of your combination of equipement or whether the modification will suit your musical taste. I installed the jumbers on a new integrated amp I had just purchased and, combined with my speakers, they created a sound that was too bright for my taste so I removed them after a few days. I will try them again after I am sure my system is broken in properly.

In the end the AudioQuest jumpers are an inexpensive gamble for better sound that I take again; expecially, if my system lacked a good high end and was muddy in the lower register.

If you need a quality preamp out-in jumper, this is what you need. Good design, no impact whatsoever on the sound, excellent, audiophile-class fit and finish. The actual cables are very short, you can't use this for anything else but for what it is designed for.

Worked great for jumping a Toslink to RCA adaptor to a small headphone tube amp that only has RCA inputs. Just the right length and no electrical interference at all. Love AudioQuest products as they are nicely built and not everything they make is sky high in price. I use the to slink input from my Astell&Kern Ak 100 Mark II with this amp. It's nice because I can lie on the couch and I have a long AudioQuest Toslink mini to full size that I run through an adapter. My DAC on the unit works as well as EQ, but I do have to get up to adjust the volume.
