This in-ceiling speaker saves room by mounting in the ceiling for use as either a primary speaker or a supporting model for a surround sound system. In either case, the unit delivers rich, vibrant sound that gives equal weight to bombast and nuance. The speaker fits neatly inside a ceiling cutout (yes, you'll need to saw into your drywall), then uses the structure and the space behind it as a speaker cabinet. Mounted flush to the ceiling, the speaker takes up less space than the average light fixture, and listeners can paint its frame and grille to match the color scheme of the room.
The speaker divides its 75 watts of power between a 6.5-inch polypropylene woofer (with dual voice coil) and a .63-inch center-mounted tweeter, with a frequency response of 70 Hz to 20 kHz. The speaker should be mounted above the prime listening area, as it can't be tilted or angled once installed. It also requires a mounting depth of 3-1/4 inches within the ceiling, in addition to a 1-1/2-inch clearance between the cutout and nearby studs or joists. For added convenience, the IC7S in-ceiling speaker can reproduce both the right and left channels of a stereo signal.

Please understand this: BOTH left and right speaker wires are wired to this SINGLE speaker. It feeds the bass and TWO tweeters located in the same chassis.
I've had this in my bathreoom for 2 years now, works fine. Is it audiophile quality? No, but it's plenty good and loud enough to overcome the shower or the wife's blowdryer. There are certain places in the whole-home audio setup, such as garage, bathroom or other spaces like walk-in closet where a two speaker stereo field is not practical nor really needed. This speaker serves this need. I've been quite pleased with the AUDIOSOURCE speakers in my whole-home environment... For the most part, the sound is background level... I don't feel the need for those high end speakers in this environment. For some select rooms, I added a powered subwoofer and have to say it sounds pretty good. All done relatively cheap too.

I am thoroughly impressed with these speakers. I am no audiophile but consider myself technically proficient when it comes to Home Theater an Home Audio. I installed these speakers in the kitchen for my wife to listen to music while she cooks and visits with guests. I installed these speakers with Monster Cable 14/4 CL3 In-wall speaker wire. Installation is easy, sound is good, and the price is right. Fairly full sound and discreet. What else could you ask for? I give it four stars, not for a top end home theater, very good for whole house hidden music.
